MethylMax™ is a full-spectrum methylation formula for the support of all major methylation pathways.* Methylmax is commonly recommended for patients with an elevated norepinephrine/epinephrine ratio as well as for patients who exhibit decreased stamina and/or low energy.* Methylation plays a vital role in systems throughout the body including:  detoxification of heavy metals, regulation of gene expression, DNA repair, regulation of protein function, and synthesis/metabolism of some neurotransmitters. One of the important biochemical pathways methylation is intimately involved with is the homocysteine/methionine cycle. Homocysteine levels impact cardiovascular health.

MethylMax contains multiple ingredients that support methylation and a healthy homocysteine/methionine cycle.* B vitamins (B6, B9, and B12) help maintain healthy homocysteine metabolism.* Trimethylglycine (TMG) or betaine and SAMe are methyl donors in the homocysteine cycle.* In fact, TMG methylates homocysteine ultimately generating SAMe.*

SAMe is the primary methyl donor in the brain.* It is a required cofactor in the conversion of norepinephrine to epinephrine and serotonin to melatonin.* Additionally, SAMe is a cofactor for the enzyme catechol-o-methyltransferase, which breaks down catecholamine neurotransmitters.*

MethylMax may be recommended in conjunction with other TNT products such as Prolent™ and Procite-D™ to support healthy neurotransmitter levels.
