ANA Screen, IFA, with Reflex to Titer and Pattern - This immunofluorescence assay (IFA) is often ordered as part of an initial diagnostic evaluation of individuals with clinical suspicion of autoimmune diseases associated with antinuclear antibodies (ANAs). PLEASE NOTE: that a "positive" ANA does not indicate a positive autoimmune disease diagnosis. More tests and evaluations are often required but this is the first step in the process.
