Organic Acids (OAT)
I like all of my mold-sick patients to do this Organic Acids test. It can give us some indications of fungal colonization of the body, how well detoxification is working, nutrient levels that are needed for detox, mitochondrial function, neurotransmitters, and much more. It can also show us if oxalates are high, which is another type of toxin that is very commonly elevated in those with mold illness. If it is, symptoms are usually worse, and we can adjust treatment to address oxalates in addition to mycotoxins.
