Dr. Katerina Parmele

Dr. Katerina Parmele earned her BA in Biochemistry, magna cum laude, from Harvard University, her MD from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a board-certified emergency physician at CalvertHealth in Maryland, a certified Functional Medicine practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine, and founder of CHEFCoachMD®. An avid endurance athlete, Dr. Parmele has completed dozens of marathons and Ironman triathlons, including the 2023 Ironman World Championship in Kona. A passionate home cook and Greek immigrant, she enjoys teaching the principles of the Mediterranean lifestyle, nutrition, meditation, and yoga to support optimal health and longevity. As a certified Wellcoaches Health and Wellness Coach with a Certificate of Culinary Coaching from the Harvard Institute of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Parmele combines evidence-based medicine, lifestyle interventions, and personalized coaching to help clients create lasting, meaningful change. She believes that wellness should be both effective and enjoyable, bringing energy, confidence, and joy to the journey toward better health.
