SIBO Breath Test - Glucose

SIBO Glucose is a breath test used to assess for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth by measuring hydrogen and methane gases produced after drinking a glucose solution. It may be useful for those exploring persistent bloating, abdominal discomfort, excess gas, or changes in bowel habits. Because glucose is absorbed relatively early in the small intestine, this test is often used to look for overgrowth in the upper portion of the small bowel. Results can help identify hydrogen- or methane-predominant patterns that may be relevant to symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, or mixed bowel changes. This is self-directed testing; interpretation and individualized recommendations are not included.
