Hello, I'm Nikki Barkhaus, FDN-P, founder and owner of Wholistic Health Center in Altoona, Iowa. After nearly 20 years as a registered nurse, my own health journey and watching my dad battle chronic illness inspired me to pursue functional medicine and a more root-cause approach to health. As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, I have advanced training in functional nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and holistic wellness. I work with clients to identify the underlying imbalances contributing to their symptoms through comprehensive health histories, functional assessments, specialty testing when appropriate, and personalized wellness plans. I believe the body has an incredible capacity to heal when given the right support.
