Additional notes
"Magnesium supports many processes in the body, including normal nervous-system function and relaxation. Magnesium glycinate is used here because it is generally well tolerated and tends to have less of a laxative effect than some other forms of magnesium. Check with me or your medical clinician before use if you have kidney disease or reduced kidney function. Magnesium can interfere with the absorption of some medications. Separate it from thyroid medication and iron by at least 2 hours. If you take a tetracycline or quinolone antibiotic, take the antibiotic at least 2 hours before or 4 to 6 hours after your magnesium. Loose stools may mean the amount is more than you tolerate comfortably."

Additional notes
"This may be taken once daily, or repeated once later in the day if needed. L-theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea. It may support relaxation and calm attention without acting as a stimulant. Check with me first if you take blood-pressure-lowering medication or experience dizziness or low blood pressure. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your OB or medical clinician before use."

Additional notes
"Omega-3 fatty acids are important structural components of brain-cell membranes and support normal neurological function and healthy inflammatory balance. This is a foundational omega-3 that may appear in more than one Balanced Mind protocol intentionally. Taking it with a meal and refrigerating the bottle may help reduce fishy aftertaste. Check with me or your medical clinician before use if you take an anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, have a bleeding disorder, have an upcoming procedure, or have a fish allergy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your OB or medical clinician before use."
Lifestyle recommendations
Stress Management
Lifestyle Support for a Calmer Nervous System
Move your body regularly. Even a short walk, stretching session, or other comfortable movement can help release physical tension and support stress regulation.
Practice a daily downshift. Try a few minutes of slow breathing, mindfulness, prayer, quiet reflection, or another calming practice that helps your body transition out of "go mode."
Protect your wind-down routine. Reduce stimulating activity close to bedtime and try to keep a reasonably consistent sleep and wake schedule. Persistent sleep problems should be discussed during a visit.
