    Gut issues like acid reflux , indigestion , bloating , intestinal gas , and constipation are all most commonly related to hypochlorhydria - insufficient stomach acid. Our stomach requires a very acidic pH (2-3) in order to break down the food we eat. If our stomach isn't acidic (but too alkaline) the food we eat will not break down - especially proteins. Food that isn't properly digested will literally just sit in the stomach and rot. If you've ever felt like the food you eat is just sitting there like a lump in your stomach, most likely it is. When food rots it produces organic acids which can lead to symptoms like acid reflux or indigestion. Acid reflux is not caused by too much stomach acid - it's due to an excess of organic acids from food sitting undigested in the stomach and rotting. A non-acidic gut is one of the causes of dysbiosis because it isn't acidic enough to kill bacteria, microbes, and pathogens entering the mouth. It also results in many mineral deficiencies including anemias because it isn't able to assimilate and utilize necessary minerals like b12 and iron. Refined/Processed foods can also be a major problem and cause a person to develop an alkaline gastrointestinal tract --> resulting in all of the above. By acidifying the stomach, upper digestion improves and stimulates the remaining digestive process of the gallbladder and pancreas to occur in the small intestines. The stomach is the first and primary "domino" that needs to fall in order for the complete digestive function to happen. Zypan : provides pepsin and Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) to aid the digestive process, along with some enzyme support and acidifying factors. Pepsin is the main enzyme that helps digest proteins. It helps digest collagen fibers in tissue meats so that digestive enzymes can penetrate meats and digest cellular proteins.
