"One of the best probiotics on the market in my opinion! Students have described it as a miracle worker for getting rid of bloating, food intolerances, LPR/reflux, and supporting regular bowel movements. It has even been shown in research to help take down SIBO (with antimicrobial properties) + is beneficial for Candida as well. Bringing in these good bacteria can act like "soldiers" getting rid of pathogens that are overgrown/shouldn't be in the gut. Please note that minor detox reactions may occur as the gut is rebalancing itself. For this reason, **the first day, use only a sprinkle on your food or in a smoothie.** Gradually increase the amount that you take over time. Then you can either do 1/2 cap every day or 1 cap every other day for a week, taken with food. If that feels good, the next week increase to 1 cap, once a day for a week. "This supplement can have a positive effect on the gut microbiome and help to shape it with fewer "bad" bacteria and more good bacteria. This specific brand is also high in vitamin A (in retinol form, which is essential for proper thyroid function + supports the gut lining) + vitamin D, which many of us don't get enough. Most fish oils can also go rancid by the time you consume them, making them actually not beneficial. This brand is of the highest quality. Omega-6 and omega-3 fats are both essential fatty acids, meaning your body can’t make them and you need to get them either through your diet or with a supplement. Unfortunately, most of us consume far more omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3s. Omega 6 fatty acids are pro-inflammatory and are found in industrial seed oils like safflower, sunflower, cotton, and corn oils. Work to remove these oils from your diet and add in long chain omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, to supplement and restore balance to your diet. Enjoy things like almonds, flax and chia to get your short chain omega-3 fatty acids from foods and avoid supplements that claim omega-3 when their source is “flax oil” or “ALA.” Your body can only convert small amounts of ALA to EPA and DHA. Make the most of your supplements and go for the more efficient and bioavailable DHA and EPA. Supplement Long Chain Omega 3’s: ● EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), a long-chain omega-3 and powerful anti-inflammatory agent that reduces inflammation at the cellular level ● DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), a long-chain omega-3 that is vital for brain health, memory and cognition, and neural development Eat Short Chain Omega 3’s: ● ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), a short-chain omega-3 that supports cardiovascular health however it’s conversion to a beneficial anti-inflammatory long chain is less than 5%. Vegans should source algae oil to obtain needed concentrations of long chain omega 3’s. ALAs from flax and seed oils do not convert to provide your body with enough of the anti-inflammatory long chain omega 3s. Genetic considerations: If you have a genetic predisposition to a neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer’s or dementia, you should consider sourcing your long chain omega 3s from krill oil. This supplement also provides brain-healthy phospholipid-bound choline and astaxanthin, a powerful free radical scavenger and brain-supporting carotenoid. "
