Additional notes
"To test your urine pH, collect a small sample of your first-morning urine in a clean cup. Dip a small piece of pH paper into your urine, then immediately match the color of the pH paper to the pH color chart. The number corresponding to the color is your pH. After wetting the pH paper, do not delay matching the color, as you might get a false reading. IDEAL pH: The ideal first-morning urine pH range is between 6.4 - 7.0 ACIDIC pH: A urine pH below 6.0 is in the acidic range = minerals are needed HIGHLY ALKALINE pH: A urine pH over 8.0 is often a red flag, a warning that your pH is too far out of range and that your minerals have been exhausted - you may be in hyper-alkalosis in which the body uses anything it can (i.e. ammonia) to try and buffer the acid load."
