Lyme prophylaxis Protocol In the Northeast, Tick and tick-borne disease exposure is rampant. Many people call their doctors after being bit to get advice on what to do. At present, there is only 1 conventional medical protocol that has specific guidelines. It is from the Infectious Disease Society of America(Read it here: https://www.idsociety.org/practice-guideline/lyme-disease/#RecommendationsAbridged ). The efficacy of this is questionable and many doctors dont prescribe it. Other than that, there are no recommendations except for waiting till symptoms occur or a positive Lyme test happens. Unfortunately, it takes weeks for the Lyme tests to trigger a positive result, if at all. In a recent study, the CDC’s standard two-tier testing for Lyme disease failed to accurately diagnose more than 70% of blood samples from individuals with an erythema migrans rash ( https://journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/JCM.00032-20 ) Here at Sophia Natural Medicine Center, we take Lyme Disease seriously. Since there is no prevention protocol for Tick and Tick-borne disease exposure, we recommend the following protocol for 1 month post exposure( a bite or significant time in a Lyme Endemic area). All of the herbs in this protocol have been studied and published as effective, in vitro, at killing Borrellia Burgdorferi and other bacteria. It is not a guarantee that you wont get Lyme Disease but since there is little to no side effects, it is worth doing a a prophylactic approach. Included is Burber-Pinella which is used as a detoxifier as well as emergency use in case of a Herximer or Detox reaction. In a case of increase of symptoms, take 20 drops of Burber-Pinella in 2 oz. of clean water every 10 minutes for up to 2 hrs. All drops can be mixed together and taken at the same time. It is recommended to drink ample amounts of pure, clean water with this protocol.
