Here are some basic supplements to get you started with improving your gut health for acne! Here's what each product does: ECGC SAP: this is a high powered component from green tea which has been shown in scientific studies to reduce inflammation and boost detox capabilities (making it an amazing choice for anyone with acne!). You can also choose to drink green tea. Although the dosage is lower, this method is a bit more affordable. Dosage for that is 2-3 tea bags or 2-3 TB loose leaf tea daily. Turmeric: this is a super strong antioxidant that, again, helps reduce inflammation and supports the body's detox processes. It's so important for those of us who struggle to detox because it helps keep our toxic load at bay. Zinc: Zinc is anti-inflammatory and typically is depleted when gut issues are involved. Most of my clients who have gut issues benefit from zinc support- plus it gives a nice inflammation-lowering boost to keep redness and new pimples at bay. Lactoferrin: this is a newer supplement on the market that has some great research backing up it's use for acne. It's an amazing anti-inflammatory and helps to reduce redness and painful, cystic breakouts. **Please keep in mind that these supplements are just a starting point. My hope is that you give them a try and you'll se improvements, but if you don't see improvements or not as much as you would like, it means you might want to look into more customized help: like getting testing or enrolling in the Clear Skin 1:1 Program. More information on that can be found here ** By purchasing these supplements you agree to take them at your own risk. Meg Hagar, MS, RDN, CDN, CLT, CHHP and/or Acne Nutritionists LLC is not responsible for any side effects or poor outcomes from taking these supplements. These recommendations are for educational purposes only and you should check with your healthcare practitioner before starting any supplement regimen.

Here are some basic supplements to get you started with improving your gut health for acne! Here's what each product does: UltraFlora Synergy: this supplement provides the right dosage of living bacteria and prebiotic fibers (food for the bacteria aka "the good guys" that are typically low in those with acne. These bacteria species have been shown to help reduce acne in studies and are also known for being anti-inflammatory and gut balancing. Digestive enzymes: a common cause of acne is poor digestion. Digestive enzymes can help make sure your food is digesting properly. This is vital when dealing with acne, because our skin is the last organ to be nourished, and if we're not getting all the nutrients that we should from our food, our skin really suffers. Zinc: Zinc is anti-inflammatory and typically is depleted when gut issues are involved. Most of my clients who have gut issues benefit from zinc support- plus it gives a nice inflammation-lowering boost to keep redness and new pimples at bay. Green tea: Oh boy does our gut LOVE green tea! It's anti-inflammatory and the protective bacteria in the gut love it. It's a great support for acne. **Please keep in mind that these supplements are just a starting point. My hope is that you give them a try and you'll se improvements, but if you don't see improvements or not as much as you would like, it means you might want to look into more customized help: like getting testing or enrolling in the Clear Skin 1:1 Program.
