Below you will find my top recommendations for active folate, omega-3 fatty acids and magnesium glycinate for children. There are several options for each of the nutrients, as compliance with kids can be the biggest hurdle, especially if they have food aversions or are very selective eaters. Methyl folate: choose between capsules (you can open and blend with a milk frother or blender into juice, milk or smoothy), lozenges do dissolve in the mouth or chew (cherry flavor), or liquid drops to be added to any beverage. Omega-3 fatty acids: choose between capsules (older children), jelly chews (are not a gummy but can be a challenging texture for some) or liquid (but the smell can pull through a smoothy). Magnesium glycinate: choose between capsules that can be opened and are tasteless or powder that is not flavored or sweetened but is a little bit sour. The powder option may be a little easier to disguise in liquids. For comprehensive information, see Dr. Danielle's free guide here or below in the resources section.
