Urinalysis, No Reflex

A urinalysis examines your urine for clues about your urinary tract, kidney health, and certain metabolic conditions. It checks characteristics such as urine concentration and acidity and looks for substances such as protein, blood, glucose, and ketones. Depending on the testing included, it may also assess cells, bacteria, and crystals under a microscope. Results can help investigate symptoms such as painful urination, frequent urination, or changes in urine appearance. Abnormal findings may suggest a urinary tract infection, kidney problems, or blood sugar concerns, but additional testing may be needed to identify the cause. A urinalysis alone does not diagnose diabetes or confirm every urinary tract infection.
