Male Hormone Package

This package measures hormones involved in male reproductive and sexual health. Free and total testosterone with SHBG assess testosterone levels and a protein that binds and transports it. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) measures a hormone made from testosterone, while DHEA-S measures an androgen produced mainly by the adrenal glands. FSH and LH assess signals from the pituitary gland involved in sperm production and testosterone production. Total estrogens measure a group of estrogen hormones rather than estradiol alone. Testing may help investigate concerns such as reduced libido or suspected hormone abnormalities, but results alone cannot diagnose testosterone deficiency or determine fertility.
