Pain & Inflammation Package

This package combines blood tests that may help investigate persistent joint pain, swelling, stiffness, or suspected inflammation. A complete blood count evaluates blood cells, while C-reactive protein (CRP) and sedimentation rate (ESR) measure nonspecific signs of inflammation. Ferritin helps assess iron stores and can also rise with inflammation. Rheumatoid factor and an antinuclear antibody (ANA) screen look for antibodies that may be associated with certain autoimmune conditions. Positive antibody results can occur in healthy people and do not automatically mean you have an autoimmune disease. Normal results also do not rule out every inflammatory condition. This panel cannot identify all causes of pain or diagnose rheumatoid conditions on its own.
