Sedimentation Rate (ESR)

Sedimentation Rate (ESR) is a non-specific test that measures how quickly red blood cells settle at the bottom of a test tube over one hour. Elevated levels can indicate the presence of inflammation, infection, or autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
