  • Complement C3a

Complement C3a is a protein fragment produced during activation of the complement system, a key part of the immune response. Measuring C3a can help evaluate immune activation and inflammation, and may be useful in investigating autoimmune or inflammatory conditions.

  • Complement Component C4a, Plasma

Complement Component C4a, Plasma - During activation of the classical or lectin pathway of complement, C4 is cleaved into C4a and C4b. C4a is rapidly cleaved to the more stable form C4a-des-arg. Even if total C3 and C4 levels are not low (because of increased production by the liver during acute inflammation), elevated levels of C4a-des-arg indicate recent complement pathway activation.

  • TGF beta 1

TGF-β1 (Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1) is a cytokine involved in cell growth, immune regulation, and tissue repair. Elevated levels may indicate chronic inflammation, fibrosis, or immune system dysregulation, and it is often assessed in conditions such as mold illness, chronic fatigue, and Lyme disease.

  • Immunoglobulins Panel, Serum

Immunoglobulins Panel, Serum - Elevations of IgG, A and/or M are seen in generalized hypergammaglobulinemia, chronic inflammatory conditions and in lymphoproliferative diseases such as multiple myeloma, lymphoma and leukemias. Decreased levels are found in immunodeficiency states, generalized hypogammaglobulinemia and in unrecognized pediatric patients.
