Diabetes Care and Panels
Diabetes Screening
Blood sugar and heart health are closely connected, and this panel looks at both together. Many standard checkups stop at A1c and fasting glucose, which often rise only after the body has been compensating for years. This panel adds fasting insulin so insulin resistance can be caught early, while there is still time to change course.
Your results cover glucose control through hemoglobin A1c and fasting glucose, insulin resistance through fasting insulin, and an eight year diabetes risk score. Kidney health is assessed with eGFR, creatinine, and a urine albumin to creatinine ratio, which can detect early changes before other markers shift. Liver health is reviewed through ALT, AST, and bilirubin, and heart risk is measured with a full lipid panel, apolipoprotein B, and high sensitivity CRP. A complete blood count is also included to confirm that your A1c reflects your true blood sugar.
This panel is designed for anyone who wants to understand their metabolic health.

Isha Gaines
Isha Gaines, M.Ed., LPC, is the founder of Moyo Heart Function, a practice dedicated to the connection between heart health and diabetes. High blood sugar and insulin resistance place steady strain on the heart and blood vessels, which is why Moyo looks at both together, supporting blood sugar balance as part of diabetes prevention and care while protecting the heart. Isha is currently pursuing her doctorate in holistic functional medicine at Kingdom College of Natural Health, where her studies focus on finding and addressing the underlying causes of chronic conditions.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with post licensure clinical experience and fourteen years as an educator, Isha understands how stress, nervous system regulation, and emotional patterns affect both blood sugar and heart function. Stress hormones raise blood pressure and blood sugar at the same time, so caring for the nervous system is a central part of her approach. She pairs this with thirteen years of holistic practice spanning herbalism, aromatherapy, Kemetic Yoga, and sound healing, along with functional lab testing that shows clients how their heart and metabolic health are connected.
Isha is also the founder of HoneyBeNatural Institute of Liberation and Wellness and Therapy with Isha, where she trains practitioners and supports clients through a counseling informed, whole person approach to wellness. Her work centers on partnership, curiosity, and the belief that true healing considers the full person, mind, body, and spirit alike.
Her approach is grounded in thirteen years of holistic practice spanning herbalism, aromatherapy, Kemetic Yoga and sound healing, alongside her current doctoral studies in holistic functional medicine at Kingdom College of Natural Health. This combination allows her to look at heart health from every angle, addressing not just the physical markers but the emotional and energetic patterns that often sit underneath them.
