C. difficile Toxin A & B test detects toxins produced by the Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) bacteria in stool samples. These toxins can cause inflammation of the colon, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and colitis, especially after antibiotic use. The test helps diagnose C. difficile infection.
