Details
Ceruloplasmin is a copper-carrying protein made in the liver. It plays a role in iron metabolism and antioxidant defense. This test is commonly used to help diagnose Wilson’s disease, a rare genetic disorder where copper builds up in the body, and may also be used to assess copper levels in liver disease, malnutrition, or certain inflammatory conditions.
