This is a single-marker test measuring pyrroles. High Kryptopyrrole levels, known as pyroluria, pyrrole disorder, or elevated pyrroles, result in a dramatic deficiency of zinc and vitamin B6.

Before You Start
- Read the provided test collection instructions.
- Antibiotics can interfere with this test. Wait 5 days after completing a course of antibiotics to collect your sample.
- You must ship your sample on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday ONLY. Please plan your collection accordingly.
12 Hours Before Collection
- Stop taking supplements containing vitamins and minerals.
- Note that some sports and energy drinks, such as Redbull or Vitamin Water, are known to contain levels of vitamins and minerals that would classify them as supplements. Please look at the vitamin and mineral information on your products. If they are considered a supplement, like Ensure, please discontinue them 12 hours prior to sample collection.
- DO NOT discontinue prescription medication without consulting your healthcare provider.
Day of Collection
- DO NOT collect your first morning urination. A second morning urine collection is preferred, but not required.
- Do not expose your sample to direct sunlight.
- Freeze your sample immediately after collection.
