The Metabolic Panel Plus assesses the levels of nutrients critical to brain health and for calculating free copper/oxidative stress.

Before You Start
- Read the provided test collection instructions.
- You will collect two samples - a urine sample at home and a blood sample at a Labcorp Patient Service Center.
- You will not receive a kit for your blood draw.
Urine Collection
- Antibiotics can interfere with this test. Wait 5 days after completing a course of antibiotics to collect your sample.
- You must ship your urine sample on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday ONLY. Please plan your collection accordingly.
- 12 Hours Before Collection
- Stop taking supplements containing vitamins and minerals.
- Note that some sports and energy drinks, such as Redbull or Vitamin Water, are known to contain levels of vitamins and minerals that would classify them as supplements. Please look at the vitamin and mineral information on your products. If they are considered a supplement, like Ensure, please discontinue them 12 hours prior to sample collection.
- DO NOT discontinue prescription medication without consulting your healthcare provider.
- Stop taking supplements containing vitamins and minerals.
- Day of Collection
- DO NOT collect your first morning urination. A second morning urine collection is preferred, but not required.
- Do not expose your sample to direct sunlight.
- Freeze your sample immediately after collection.
Blood Collection
- You will not receive a kit for your blood draw.
- If you take anti-histamines, consult your healthcare provider about the timing of your test. If approved by your practitioner, anti-histamines should be stopped 21 days prior to your blood draw.
- 12 Hours Before Collection
- Stop taking supplements containing vitamins and minerals.

- Fasting before a blood draw means you don't eat or drink anything except water.

- Day of Blood Collection
- Your blood sample must be collected by a phlebotomist at a Labcorp Patient Service Center (PSC).
