The Histamine Clearance Index™ helps evaluate impaired histamine elimination, which may occur as a result of reduced DAO activity. By assessing the functional capacity of DAO, the Histamine Clearance Index™ offers deeper clinical insight than standalone measurements of histamine or DAO levels.

The Histamine Clearance Index™ is a targeted histamine intolerance test that evaluates the body’s ability to break down and eliminate histamine. This test helps practitioners assess impaired histamine clearance associated with reduced or inhibited diamine oxidase (DAO) activity, supporting clinical evaluation in patients with multi-system or allergy-like symptoms.

Before You Start

- Continue taking any nutritional supplements and medications unless your healthcare provider says otherwise.
Day Before Sample Collection
- Hydrate the day before sample collection.
Day of Collection
- DO NOT refrigerate or freeze your sample.
- Save the printed requisition form you received in your Fullscript box and send it back with your sample.
- Your sample must be clearly labeled and arrive at the lab with a completed test requisition form for the lab to be analyzed.
- Ship your sample on the same day it is collected, Monday–Thursday only.
