Before You Start
- Please read the provided test collection instructions.
- If you are a man or a peri/menopausal woman, you may collect your samples on any day.
- If you are a premenopausal woman evaluating ovulatory function, collect your samples between Days 19 and 25 of your menstrual cycle. Day 1 is the first day of your period.
- All saliva samples must be collected on the same day.
Day of Collection
- Avoid taking hormones until after you have collected your morning sample.
- Avoid the following activities for 1 hour before each saliva collection:
- Eating
- Brushing your teeth
- Flossing your teeth
- Using mouthwash
- Using lip balm
- Chewing gum
- Using tobacco products
Collection Schedule
- Collect only the saliva tubes that correspond to the biomarkers ordered by your healthcare provider.
- Sample 1 (7:00 am to 9:00 am):
- Estradiol, Estriol, Estrone, Testosterone, Progesterone, DHEA, and Cortisol (7:00 am to 9:00 am).
- Sample 2 (11:00 am to 1:00 pm):
- Cortisol (11:00 am to 1:00 pm).
- Sample 3 (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm):
- Cortisol (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm).
- Sample 4 (10:00 pm to 12:00 am):
- Cortisol (10:00 pm to 12:00 am).
State restrictions:
Patient can't order this test if they are located in Hawaii, or Puerto Rico
