Measles Antibody (IgG), Immune Status - This test checks for immunity to measles, a disease that can cause fever, irritability, respiratory issues, and a distinctive rash. Thanks to vaccines, measles is much less common now. IgG antibodies suggest a likely immunity or past exposure to measles before. IgM antibodies suggest a current or recent infection. However, IgM tests can sometimes give a wrong positive result, and low IgM levels might stay in the body for over a year.
