Estimated days for results: Results should be available in 2 - 5 business days after the sample is collected

Oat (f7) IgE
This test measures a person's allergic reaction to oats by checking the levels of IgE antibodies. This test is done in a lab and helps Providers figure out if someone has a food allergy. It's often used along with other medical info to make a diagnosis.

Why might someone need this test?
Providers might suggest this test if other allergy tests can't be done because of skin conditions, recent medication use, uncooperative behavior, or a high risk of severe allergic reactions. It's also a good option for checking if someone might be allergic to oats.

Understanding Your Results:
A positive result means there's a sensitivity to oats, but it doesn't always mean you'll get sick from eating them. Many people who show sensitivity don't have any symptoms. Only a Provider can confirm a food allergy, after looking at your medical history and symptoms. Remember, not all food sensitivities involve IgE antibodies, so this test isn't the only way to diagnose food allergies.

What type of sample is required for this test?
0.3 mL serum.
