Details
Lipoprotein particles are responsible for key steps in plaque formation and the development of cardiovascular disease. The LPP Plus test measures 12 lipoprotein particle markers to determine cardiovascular disease risk.
- LDL Particle Number
- hsCRP
- Apolipoprotein B
- Homocysteine
- Triglycerides
- Total Cholesterol
- HDL Cholesterol
- LDL Cholesterol
- Non-HDL Cholesterol
- HDL P
- Apolipoprotein A-1, Blood
- Insulin, Fasting
- Lipoprotein (a), Blood
- VLDL Particle Number
- Buoyant HDL 2b Particle Number
- Dense LDL III Particle Number
- Dense LDL IV Particle Number
- non-HDL Particle Number
- Remnant Lipoprotein Particle Number
Estimated days for results: Results should arrive 14 business days after the lab receives samples.
Studies have found that it is the lipoprotein particles that carry the cholesterol throughout the blood, not the cholesterol within them, and are responsible for key steps in plaque formation and the development of cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular risk increases with a higher LDL particle count. With a higher non-HDL count, the probability of particle penetration of the arterial walls rises, regardless of the total amount of cholesterol contained in each particle.
SpectraCell's advanced Lipoprotein Particle Profile measures lipoprotein size and density, cardiovascular risk stratification, and includes triglycerides and traditional cholesterol screening.
