- Please read the provided test collection instructions.
- DO NOT collect your sample if blood may be present in your urine.
- DO NOT collect your sample while you are menstruating.
- DO NOT collect your sample while you have a urinary tract infection (UTI).
- DO NOT collect your sample while you are taking methylene blue. Blue urine samples will be immediately rejected by the lab.
3 Days Before Collection
- Avoid biotin (vitamin B7), including hair and nail formulas.
1 Day Before Collection
- Avoid the following foods and substances for 24 hours before collection:
- Bananas
- Pineapple
- Nuts and nut butters
- Alcohol
- Nicotine
- Protein powders and protein shakes
- Avoid excessive fluid intake the evening before collection. If your sample is too dilute, it will not be able to be analyzed.
Day of Collection
- Ship your sample to the lab within 48 hours of collection.
- If you cannot ship your sample the same day as collection, freeze it until the time of shipment.
