Day of Collection
- Read the provided test collection instructions carefully.
- Watch the test collection video.
- DO NOT collect your sample while menstruating.
- If you have recently had an MRI with gadolinium contrast, wait at least 96 hours before collecting your sample.
- If you take iodine or selenium supplements (such as Iodoral or a multi-vitamin) daily, continue to take them as normal during the testing period.
3 Days Before Collection
- DO NOT take biotin/vitamin B7.
1 Day Before Collection
- Avoid the following foods and supplements
- Seafood
- Seaweed/kelp
- Dairy products
- Brazil nuts
- Any other food high in iodine
- Any other food high in selenium
- Any iodine or selenium supplements taken periodically (not daily)
Day of Collection
- DO NOT drink more than 8 oz of water in the hour before each collection.
- Collect your first urine sample immediately upon waking.
- Collect your blood spot sample within an hour of waking.
