Before You Start
  • Read the provided test collection instructions carefully.
  • Watch the test collection video.
  • If you are a man, child, or non-menstruating woman, you can collect your sample at any time.
  • If you are a menstruating woman,
    • Regular cycles: Collect on Day 19, 20, or 21 of your cycle (where Day 1 is the first day of your period).
    • Irregular cycles: Collect 5 days before your period starts.
    • Unpredictable cycles: Collect any non-bleeding day.
  • Talk to your healthcare provider before collection if you are taking troche or sublingual hormones or steriods.
  • Collect your sample halfway between doses of these medications.
    • Hormone patches
    • Vaginal rings
    • Hormone pellets
    • Hormone injectables

3 Days Before Collection
  • DO NOT use anti-aging/anti-wrinkle face creams.
  • DO NOT take biotin/vitamin B7.
  • DO NOT take 7-keto DHEA.

2 Days Before Collection
  • Stop applying topical hormones with your bare hands. Use latex gloves, an applicator, or a hormone-loaded syringe.
  • Stop applying topical hormones on your face, lips, and neck.

1 Day Before Collection
  • If you use topical hormones, change your sheets, pillowcases, and hand towels the night before collection.
  • DO NOT touch any surfaces that may be contaminated with topical hormones.
  • Take any night oral or topical hormones at least 12 hours Before Collection.
  • You must fast for 10-12 hours before your blood spot sample collection.
    • Fasting means you don't eat or drink anything except water.
    • Your doctor should provide any special instructions related to fasting for your test. Always follow your doctor's instructions.

Day of Collection
  • You will collect ONE blood spot and ONE saliva sample.
  • Avoid the following activities for at least 2 hours before your saliva collection.
    • Eating
    • Drinking anything but water
    • Brushing your teeth
  • Collect your saliva sample within 30 minutes of waking.
  • Collect your blood spot sample within one hour of waking.
