Women are often left in the dark when it comes to what a pap smear actually is, what it is testing, pap smear results and options- the list goes on. Women are often left feeling like they are thrust into the medical model without any real information or root cause support. Enter midwifery care! We have delved into the research and put together a cervical health supplemental protocol that women can utilize as a root-cause supportive piece as they take control of their health. This protocol is best to take for around a year, depending on your particular health situation and follow up options. For more information on pap smears, cervical health support, alternatives to medical cervical health follow ups and root-cause healing, please see our Monthly Membership option in which we can take a deep dive together, found here .

There are many vaginal changes that can occur in peri-menopause. Caused by the drop or fluctuation in estrogen, the labia and vaginal tissue can become less supple and moist, cause discomfort internally, externally and layered with complications from pelvic floor dysfunction as well. Pelvic floor assessment and treatment is encouraged for any pelvic heaviness, incontinence, painful sex or general discomfort. For greater comfort during intercourse we recommend women participate in cardio several times a week, consider vaginal steaming before sex to increase blood flow, use water-based lubes and spend more time during foreplay. The supplement recommendations here are 2 fold: oral remedies that should be taken daily for several weeks to see how they assist with general skin and tissue health, and external strategies that you can experiment with 1 or 2 at a time to gauge topical relief. You may have heard of adrenal glands before, especially as it  relates to under functioning, but  what exactly are the adrenals and why are they so important? The adrenal glands are small, triangular glands located on the top of both kidneys. These glands are a part of the larger endocrine system. The glands themselves may be small, but they have a big impact! and their main role is to help produce and convert hormones. Among other hormones,  they especially are known for their work on stress hormones in particular: aka catecholamines. The  adrenals are a huge part of basic  metabolic functioning- helping  to regulate things like: metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, mental health and response to stress, among other things. Understanding the impact of dysfunction + natural healing for the adrenals is key, and this protocol is aimed to be a part of a larger picture of healing. Post-birth control syndrome (PBCS) is a term used for symptoms that can occur after stopping hormonal birth control. These often last weeks, sometimes months, and include acne, no menstrual periods, hair loss, and anxiety. It is thought to be triggered by nutrient deficiencies, an abrupt change in hormones and your body trying to return to homeostasis while the root cause of potential previous hormone imbalances are activated again. Steps to heal from these symptoms include replenishing nutrient stores, addressing gut health, detoxing excess hormones and holistically addressing hormone imbalance issues. Address your hormone imbalances more thoroughly with our free Hormone Reset HERE . + Get more personalized support for PBCS and more inside our Beautiful One Midwifery Membership HERE .

Since estrogen helps prevent bones from getting weaker by slowing the natural breakdown of bone, its reduction during menopause significantly speeds up bone loss. Menopausal women lose 10-20% of their bone density in that transitional perimenopausal period. Bone mineral density is scored as normal, osteopenia (early bone loss), and osteoporosis (significant bone loss). 30% of women over 50 will experience bone fracture. Hip fracture risk is 1 in 6. The mortality rate for women who are recovering from a hip fracture from the previous year is 25%. Women can lower these risk with the tenants of holistic health.
