Bone Builder Basic

Bone Builder is a great supplement to strengthen, remineralize & grow healthy bone. It contains hydroxyapatite, which is about 70% by weight the makeup of skeletal bone. It is also about 96% of the enamel in teeth. And about 70% of the dentin in teeth. Not only does it help for conditions like osteopenia, osteoporosis and other bone growth diseases, it is also very effective at reducing the healing time for fractures in bones. For best results, combine with 5,000-6,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 per day.

View protocolHeartburn & Reflux Protocol

Heartburn & Reflux Protocol IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Most believe that heartburn & reflux are due to too much acid production. In actuality, heartburn & reflux are due to TOO LITTLE acid production. The 2 Primary Root Causes of Low Acid Production in the Stomach Are: •Too much inflammation in the digestive tract •Altered gut microbiome So, how do you fix these? You will need to follow the below 3 steps: •Lower Inflammation •Improve Gut Microbiome •Add Acid & Improve Acid Production STEP 1 For a time period, you’ll need to eliminate the most pro-inflammatory items from your diet. The top 3 are: •Refined Sugar •Seed Oils •Processed Grains If you are not supplementing with Vitamin D3 & Omega 3’s, you may want to consider doing this as well. Roughly 70-80% of Americans are deficient in these 2 nutrients. It is also CRUCIAL to have sufficient levels of these if you want to properly regulate inflammation in your body. Hence, my suggestion of supplementing with them. STEP 2 Simultaneously, you will want to make sure you are feeding and proliferating your gut microbiome. This comes from eating sufficient amounts of low glycemic soluble fiber fruits & veggies. Soluble fiber gets broken down by water, and then feeds your gut microbiome (probiotics). Generally speaking, these are going to be above ground vegetables (you can also use onions & garlic). Low glycemic fruits are going to be berries and those growing on harder wood trees (this would exclude bananas, pineapples, grapes, mangos, kiwis, melons, peaches & nectarines). You’ll want to consume 4-6 cups per day of the above vegetables & fruits, in order to get sufficient amounts of soluble fiber back in your diet. These will in turn proliferate and grow your gut microbiome back up to healthy levels. You may also want to consider supplementing with a broad-spectrum (8 or more strains) and high-dosage (20+ billion CFU’s) probiotic. Some individuals will need an initial inoculation for the first 30-60 days due to their significantly low levels of healthy bacteria. The one I use most often with patients is in this protocol. STEP 3 The third step is to add extra acid to each meal & eventually get your gut to naturally produce more acid, so you don’t have to add extra acid. When you do Steps 1 & 2, those will improve your natural acid production to sufficient levels. Most will notice significant improvements in the first 2 weeks. In my clinic, by 6 weeks, ~70% of my patients’ reflux issues are gone…even if they’ve been suffering for decades. The other ~30% are vastly improved and they need to give the protocol just a little more time so they can be free from the reflux issues that plagued them. But what do you do in the meantime to reduce the immediate symptoms? Again, remember, the issues is not ENOUGH acid in the stomach. So obviously, you’ll want to add acid to your meals. And prior to consuming food. But how? I have a “Step A” and a “Step B”. Step A works for the large majority of people. Step B is for those who really have a low acid production. Step A Right before you eat your meals, take 1 Tbsp (15 mL) of apple cider vinegar (ACV) and mix it with 6-8 oz. (175-240 mL) of water. Then drink that right before you begin eating. ACV has a pH of 2-3 which will mimic the acid production your stomach should be producing. I like the brand Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar “with the mother” in it. But any other brand will work. Try and get organic if possible. After about 2 weeks of doing the above steps, try a meal without taking the ACV and water combo beforehand. See how you do on your reflux, without it. Many can stop the ACV at this point because they will realize that they no longer need it (however, continue on with Steps 1 & 2 for at least 6 weeks). If you go without it, and still have some symptoms, then continue for another week with the ACV & water combo before each meal, and then re-test again without it. Typically, prior to 6 weeks, you’ll not need the pre-meal ACV/water combo. Step B This step is for those that try the ACV & water combo before a meal, for a week, and are still getting reflux symptoms after they eat. For those individuals, we need a little more acid. If this is you, I would suggest getting Betaine Hydrochloride HCL You can find it over the counter. It’s not a medication. IMPORTANT: The only time you would not want to take this is if you had an ulcer. It can make the symptoms worse. ALSO, do not chew the tablets/capsules. It’s an acid, and you do not want to do this. How To Take First, always take with your first bite of food. DO NOT take on an empty stomach, and then begin eating 10+ minutes later. It is best to simply take with your first bite of food at a meal. Second, start with one capsule containing 500-750 mg of Betaine Hydrochloride, with your meal. You will probably want to take it with a sip of water. You will consume this with each meal. Try this for 1 week. If after 1 week, your symptoms are not gone or significantly better, you can take 2 capsule with your first bite of food. Most will not need to get to this step. However, there is a smaller percentage of the population that have such low acid production naturally, they will need even more help. As your body begins to heal and improve by following all the steps listed above, you can then begin to reduce your betaine hydrochloride ingestion. Eventually, you will be able to stop the betaine hydrochloride and go down to the ACV in Step A. And eventually, you will even be able to stop the AVC with each meal. How Long Will I Need To Do This? Most of you will be able to see an elimination of your symptoms within the first 6 weeks, as mentioned above. However, the majority of those who still have symptoms will see a resolution within 8-10 weeks. Rarely (less than 5%) will people need to follow this routine for 12 weeks. But it does happen. So, if this is you, stick with the process. Remember: increased inflammation, an altered gut microbiome, and low acid production is not just affecting your heart burn, reflux & GERD. These are root underlying issues that affect allergies, autoimmune diseases, immunity, heart health, brain health, energy levels, metabolic health & so much more. By addressing these root issues, you are not only helping your heart burn & reflux, but you are also doing SO MUCH MORE for your overall health & quality of life! While change is difficult at times, I promise you that it will be well worth going through the above steps & addressing the root causes! Just test me. Follow the above steps & see if you don’t get way more out of it than simply eliminating your heart burn & reflux ;-)

View protocolIron Booster Support

**Click "Show more" to see full protocol recommendation and learn more how this will help you** The Issues With 99% Of Iron Supplements Patients often go on an iron supplement to bring up their levels. I would estimate that 99% of iron supplements on the market are elemental non-heme iron supplements. I can’t think of a time when a patient has brought in an iron supplement they’ve been taking, and it was not this type of iron! Why is that important? 1st: horrible absorption rates- typically less than 5% 2nd: stimulates a hormone (hepcidin) in your body that actually BLOCKS iron absorption! This also causes inflammation in the gut. And because of the poor absorption and increase in inflammation, it is why so many start to have issues with constipation and nausea when going on these type of iron supplements. Also, certain foods block the absorption of this type of iron supplements because they create a more basic environment in the stomach/gut. Which is why these supplements often have Vitamin C added to them (to make the stomach more acidic). The best sources of iron are from food. There are 2 types of iron from food. Plant-based sources are referred to as non-heme iron. Plant-based sources have approximately a 2-15% absorption rate. Animal-based sources are referred to as heme iron. Animal-based foods have ~15-30% absorption rates. Non-Heme Iron Sources: •Fortified cereals, rice, breads & pasta •Spinach •Kale •Raisins •Apricots •Kidney, navy & lima beans •Nuts & Seeds •Tofu •Lentils •Peanut Butter Heme Iron Sources: •Organ Meats •Beef •Lamb •Venison •Goat •Chicken •Fish •Shellfish However, if someone has any of the following, this presents a problem with absorbing the iron from food: •Gut Dysfunction •Gut Diseases •Bariatric Surgery •Stomach Ulcers •MTHFR Gene Mutations (~40-60% of population) •Frequent Antacid Use With the above-mentioned issues with 99% of iron supplements (elemental non-heme iron), you want an iron supplement that is heme iron. Heme Iron Supplements Have These Advantages: •Have Up to 10X Absorption •Doesn’t Cause Constipation •No Heartburn •No Nausea •No Stomach Cramps •Doesn’t Need Vitamin C for Absorption •Can Be Taken Without Food A heme iron supplement is what I use in this protocol. The one I use below (TMAncestral Beef Organs) also comes from grass-fed cows and has 60.6 mg of heme iron per capsule. This allows for some of the most rapid increase in iron levels, typically with no side effects for patients. Additionally, I use some other key nutrients to help with absorption rates. Iron is better absorbed with methylated folate (Vitamin B9) and methylated B12. Folic acid is the synthetic version of Vitamin B9. This is what is added, or fortified, in foods. You will see it on the labels. Again, poor absorption rates and conversion to a usable form. Folate is the natural and methylated form. This is what your body can use. Those with MTHFR gene mutations (~40-60% of the population) are at a definite disadvantage to methylating B9 and B12 properly. Methylation is needed for these vitamins to be absorbed (and therefore, used by your body). It’s why I insist on using methylated forms of both vitamins. In this protocol, I use a proper dosage of these methylated nutrients in conjunction with the heme iron via Methyl-Guard. Finally, iron is needed to make hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is what carries oxygen on your red blood cells to every cell and tissue in your body. Typically, people find out they are low in iron due to low hemoglobin levels on their bloodwork. Hemoglobin needs sufficient levels of Vitamin D to form. I have found most patients are not in optimal Vitamin D ranges. A number are not even within “normal” levels of Vitamin D! Of course they are going to have trouble making enough hemoglobin, plus SO MANY other metabolic and immune functions when they have deficient levels of Vitamin D. Which is why I also use Vitamin D3 in this protocol, so you can feel better as fast as possible. “Normal” vs. Optimal Bloodwork for Nutrients If you’ve had bloodwork on these 3 nutrients, the following is what you want to look for to have optimal levels. B-12 Normal: 180-900 pg/mL Optimal: 800-900 pg/mL B-9 (it will say “folic acid”) Normal: 2-20 mcg/L Optimal: 14-17 mcg/L Vitamin D Normal: 30-100 ng/mL Optimal: 70-90 ng/mL How Long Should I Follow This Protocol It takes ~90 days for red blood cells to replace themselves, so you will want to follow the protocol for 90 days, and then re-test your lab work. "Normal" vs. Optimal Lab Values 1. Hemoglobin Normal: Adult Males: 13.1-17.5 g/dL Adult Females: 10.6-15.6 g/dL Optimal: Adult Males: 14-15 g/dL Adult Females: 13-14 g/dL 2. Ferritin Normal: 13-200 mcg/L Optimal: For ferritin to be at optimal levels, you will want it definitely above 70 mcg/L, and ideally > 100 mcg/L if having thyroid issues. Optimal for males is 70-200 mcg/L and for females is 70-150 mcg/L 3. Serum Iron Normal: 60-170 mcg/dL Optimal: 110-140 mcg/dL 4. Transferrin % Normal: 15-50% Optimal: 35% Females, 40-45% Males 5. TIBC Normal: 240-450 mcg/dL Optimal: 300-350 mcg/dL ******Supplemental Protocol***** 1) TMAncestral Beef Organs (180 capsules) When Levels Are Low: 1 capsule, 2X/day until bloodwork improves to optimal levels To Maintain Optimal Levels: 1 capsule, 1X/day 2) MethylGuard (both methyl B-12 and B-9 [folate]) When Levels Are Low: 1 capsule, 2X/day until bloodwork improves to optimal levels To Maintain Optimal Levels: 1 capsule, 1X/day 3) Liqua-D- 3 drops When Levels Are Low: 5 drops/day until bloodwork improves to optimal levels To Maintain Optimal Levels: 3 drops/day One Last Piece Of Advice Many individuals that have low iron, ferritin and hemoglobin levels have a root cause of gut dysfunction. They often have some or many of the following, which affect absorption of even the best heme iron supplements. •Pain/Discomfort After Eating •Bloating •Constipation •Diarrhea •Heartburn/GERD/Reflux •IBS •Celiac •Chron's •Bariatric Surgery •Stomach Ulcers •Frequent Antacid Use If this is you, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST you address the underlying gut dysfunction like I do with my patients, wen I place them on this iron boosting protocol. The 90-Day Course found on my website (www.DrBPHealth.com) mimics exactly what I take patients through in the clinic. When patients combine it with this protocol, they get even more phenomenal results. I know I covered a lot of info here (and I could have given more details). However, if you are struggling with low iron symptoms, I wanted to provide you with sufficient info to get you started in your recovery. So many suffer too many years when they don’t need to. Often, I will see patients start to notice a vast difference within a few short weeks after they begin implementing what I’ve discussed above. If you are suffering with low iron, or symptoms of low iron, I’d highly suggest you begin making the changes I’ve outlined above. It will make a vast difference in your quality of life! To your health, ~Dr. BP
