Below are my recommendations for seasonal allergies. Symptoms typically consists of watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose and sinus congestion. These recommendations do not guarantee complete symptom resolution, however, several of the below have been studied and showed reduction of allergy symptoms. Identify and avoid triggers: Determine the specific allergens that trigger your symptoms, such as pollen, mold, or dust mites, and take steps to minimize your exposure to them. This may involve staying indoors during peak pollen times, using air purifiers, and keeping windows closed (especially after cutting the grass). Neti pot or saline rinse: Nasal irrigation with a neti pot or saline rinse can help reduce sinus congestion and flush out allergens from your nasal passages. Follow the instructions carefully and use distilled or sterile water to avoid any risk of infection. Vitamin C: Vitamin C has been shown to have anti-histamine properties, anti-inflammatory properties, and immune-boosting effects which may help alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and nasal congestion. Quercetin: Quercetin is a flavonoid with natural antihistamine properties. It can help stabilize mast cells and reduce the release of histamine, which is responsible for allergic reactions. Foods rich in quercetin include apples, onions, berries, and leafy greens. You can also consider quercetin supplements such as D-Hist and BCQ. Local honey: Some people find relief from allergies by consuming locally sourced honey. The theory is that small amounts of pollen in the honey can help desensitize your immune system to the allergens present in your area. Herbal remedies: Certain herbs have been traditionally used and studied to ease allergy symptoms. Butterbur (Petasites hybridus) and stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) are two examples. These herbs may have natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. Probiotics: A healthy gut microbiome can support a balanced immune response. Consuming probiotic-rich foods like organic yogurt or taking a high-quality probiotic supplement may help enhance your immune system and potentially reduce allergy symptoms. Lifestyle modifications: Maintain a healthy lifestyle by getting regular exercise, managing stress levels, and ensuring adequate sleep. These factors can positively impact your immune system and overall well-being, potentially reducing the severity of allergy symptoms. Use of a diffuser with Essential oils like Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Tea Tree to promote opening of the sinuses. Acupuncture/ Chinese herbs with sinus drainage technique to promote sinus drainage to reduce sinus congestion. The supplements below are recommended to reduce the histamine response, reduce inflammation, reduce sinus congestion, sneezing, itching and watery eyes.

Gout is a type of arthritis that is caused by a consuming large amounts of purine-rich foods that cause a buildup of uric acid crystals in the joints, leading to inflammation and pain. Naturopathic treatment for gout focuses on reducing inflammation, promoting the elimination of uric acid, and preventing future gout attacks. The best way to combat gout is to limit and avoid foods and drinks that cause gout in the first place. You want to put out the fire, but if you are consuming many purine-rich foods, you're only adding fuel to the flame. Then, supplement and eat foods that promote healthy uric acid levels along with implementing lifestyle modifications. If you are a chronic gout sufferer, it is best to follow this protocol as strict as you can for the first 2-3 months to decrease and stabilize your uric acid levels. Once your uric acids levels and symptoms have normalized, you can add in foods in moderation. This is not a guarantee, but a list of my recommendations based on the current scientific research literatures. You will likely have improvements if you follow this closely. 1. Diet: A gout-friendly diet can help to reduce inflammation and lower uric acid levels. This includes eating a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean protein sources (such as chicken and fish), and avoiding high-purine foods like red meat, pork, bacon, shellfish, and organ meats along with sugary and sweet drinks. It is also important to AVOID ALCOHOL. 2. Hydration: Drinking plenty of water and natural fluids can help to flush excess uric acid out of the body. 3. Herbs and supplements: Certain herbs and supplements have anti-inflammatory and uric acid-lowering properties that can be helpful for gout. These include: Cherry juice or extract: Cherries are a natural anti-inflammatory and may help to reduce gout symptoms. Turmeric: This spice has potent anti-inflammatory properties and can be taken as a supplement or used in cooking. Vitamin C: This antioxidant vitamin has been shown to lower uric acid levels in some studies. Fish oil: Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil can help to reduce inflammation in the body. Juan Bi Tang (Remove Painful Obstruction Decoction): This formula is used to relieve joint pain and inflammation, and may be helpful in treating gout. It contains several herbs that have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, including angelica root, peach kernel, and safflower. Wu Ling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria): "DRAIN DAMPNESS" This formula is used to promote urination and reduce swelling in the body. It contains several diuretic herbs, including hoelen, polyporus, and alisma. Shen Tong Zhu Yu Tang (Drive Out Stasis in the Channels and Unblock the Collaterals Decoction): This formula is used to promote blood circulation and relieve pain and stiffness in the joints. It contains several herbs that have blood-moving properties, including red peony root, persica seed, and frankincense. Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang (Angelica Pubescens and Sangjisheng Decoction): This formula is used to relieve joint pain and stiffness, and may be helpful in treating gout. It contains several herbs that have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, including pubescent angelica root, loranthus, and eucommia bark. Er Miao San (Two-Marvel Powder): This formula is used to reduce joint inflammation and swelling, and may be helpful in treating gout. It contains two herbs that have anti-inflammatory properties and can help to promote urination, including phellodendron bark and coptis root. 4. Lifestyle changes: Maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly, and reducing stress can also be helpful for managing gout symptoms. In some cases, medication may be necessary to manage gout symptoms and prevent future attacks.
