Cholesterol levels are considered a key modifiable risk factor in the context of cardiovascular health. EXERCISE High intensity and even low- to moderate-aerobic exercise can support healthy cholesterol Start with just walking for 30 minutes a day! FIBER Soluble fiber can reduce the absorption of cholesterol into your bloodstream. Try for 5 - 10 grams or more of soluble fiber a day decreases your LDL cholesterol. FAT Increase healthy fat- eat oily fish (salmon) at least 2 times per week (If you are not interested in fish in your diet consider supplementing with Fish Oil/Omega-3) This will lowers fat in the blood and slows the growth rate of plaque. Reduce unhealthy fats and eliminate trans fats. SUPPLEMENTS Berberine: Berberine is a compound isolated from the bark, roots, rhizome, and stems of plants from the genus Berberis. A study of 32 patients taking Berberine for 3 months showed reduced cholesterol by 29%, triglycerides by 35% and LDL-cholesterol by 25%. Red Yeast Rice: is one of the most studied supplements for supporting cholesterol health. It has a similar mechanism to statin medications. Niacin: also know as Vitamin B3 inhibits triglyceride hydrolysis, resulting in both an increased HDL and a lowered triglyceride level. In fact, niacin has been associated with an increase in HDL by as much as 30%. Be Well, Heather Health Coaches/Registered Nurses do not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or condition. Vitamin D

VITAMIN D It is estimated that over 40% of Americans are deficient in vitamin D! Why? Limited sun exposure, Celiac disease, Crohn's disease, gastric bypass, laxatives, steroids, statins, plant-based diets, obesity, etc..... What are symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency ? Fatigue, bone pain, muscle weakness, muscle aches, mood changes including anxiety and depression. Testing Learning your current vitamin D level can be done by a blood draw or a simple blood spot test that can be completed at home. The standard reference range is a level of 20-40ng/ml. However emerging data supports an optimal reference range of 40-70 ng/ml. Treatment Sun exposure- 15-20 minutes of direct sunlight 3 times per week at a UV index of 3 or higher. Food- Salmon, sardines, swordfish, and tuna. Supplements- Vitamin D3 is available over the counter and comes from animals. Additionally, Vitamin K2 works synergistically with Vitamin D. Studies show that taking both Vitamin D with Vitamin K2 increases the body's ability to metabolize calcium effectively versus taking Vitamin D alone. Estrogen and Progesterone Support

Shatavari supports BOTH estrogen and progesterone. Recommended 500mg-1000mg. Chaste Tree Berry is great at supporting low progesterone symptoms. Studies report 40mg-500mg. Women subjectively report 250-500mg as being beneficial for their symptoms. There are quite a few more great options, however these both have a moderate amount of research to support them and I do not recommend starting on too much at once. When working on improving your hormones remember to be patient. It takes about 3 months for the female body to completely move through our cycle. Consider making a 3 month commitment to a plan and then reevaluate ( I know easier said then done). Health Coaches/Registered Nurses do not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or condition. Antibiotic Support

Antibiotics can disrupt the balance of good bacteria in your gut, leading to digestive issues. A quality probiotic can help restore that balance, supporting both your digestion and immune system. Ashwagandha: Cortisol & Wellness

Ashwagandha: Cortisol & Wellness Ashwagandha is a natural adaptogen that helps reduce cortisol levels and enhance stress resilience. Clinical research supports its efficacy in improving stress-related outcomes, such as anxiety, mood, and sleep quality. Ashwagandha has been used for over 3,000 years in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. As an evidence-based adaptogen, ashwagandha reduces stress by attenuating the stress hormone cortisol. Ashwagandha can be found in capsule, tablet, powder, tincture, and tea forms. Dosage and Duration The recommended dose for ashwagandha can vary on individual needs, but most research suggests that taking 250-600 mg daily for at least eight weeks. Benefits shown include improving stress and anxiety scores by 62% and reduced serum cortisol by nearly 15%. Potential Side Effects and Considerations Understanding these side effects and interactions can help you make informed decisions about incorporating this herb into your wellness routine. The most commonly reported side effects associated with its use include: Diarrhea Nausea Vomiting Drowsiness It is also important to note that rare cases of liver injury have been reported. There are no reports of liver injury in clinical trials, reports of liver injury have occurred in patients taking commercial products containing ashwagandha. It is unclear if this is related to the ashwagandha or product contamination. *Which is why I always recommend products that are cGMP Certified. Ashwagandha should be avoided: During pregnancy and breastfeeding Pre-existing autoimmune diseases Prostate cancer. Hyperthyroidism. Ashwagandha might increase the risk of side effects of some medications, including hypoglycemics, antihypertensives, immunosuppressants, sedatives, and anti-convulsants If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Heather@ElementalHealthConsulting.com Health Coaches/Registered Nurses do not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or condition.
