Basic plan

29 more items in Basic planHello :) These are basic recommendations I make for all of my pregnant, preconception, breastfeeding, or childbearing aged clients. Your specific needs or desires might vary slightly, so feel free to ask me for specific recommendations! You will see multiple brand options for many items I recommend, so don't be overwhelmed by the amount of supplements or the price, just follow the recommended timeline and you can come back and order what you want/need. Also, you can order supplements for other family members including older children :) I have added both a multi/prenatal, and a beef liver/organs complex. Some women who need or want extra support (pregnancies close together, nutritional deficiencies, recovering from illness/weakness, etc.) may want to use both, but they are meant here to be a one or the other type of option. I personally prefer the beef liver option over the prenatal/multi, but you get to decide. I may recommend beef liver/organs when blood building is needed as well. I recommend you have enough stock to last you at least a month postpartum - so consider that timing when you make orders. In general I recommend: Early pregnancy/pre-conception/breastfeeding or between children: - beef liver/organs (or prenatal multi) - fish oil: Nordic Naturals and Barleans are great, but there are some options outside of FullScript that are phenomenal as well. Try to mix in a cod liver oil at least once in pregnancy. - magnesiums (glycinate, L-threonate, and malate daily - add more varieties as desired) - vitamin D low dose: 1000-2000IU daily, take with magnesium - B complex - collagen peptides powder daily to boost protein intake (in pregnancy we can add probiotics about halfway through (or earlier if you'd like!), but if you aren't pregnant, they are great to add to this basic daily regimen) Around 16 weeks: all of the above, and add: - calcium, around 1200mg daily - choline 950mg daily, including what you get from eggs in your diet Around 20 weeks: all of the above, and add: - probiotics: try to find a variety with 5+ strains of bacteria, and change it up every time to finish a bottle - try to get through a few bottles in pregnancy. There are some that are vaginal health, or female specific which are great to rotate in. - iodine: 250 mcg daily: through food or supplementation Around 26-28 weeks: all of the above, and add: - blood building support if your practitioner/midwife assesses that you are low/deficient in something. Optimally, this would include something with vitamin A and copper which will get your natural iron moving - which is already in beef liver :) Blood building support should not be continued indefinitely. Continue through pregnancy, into postpartum unless your practitioner/midwife advises differently.
