Hi ALL, 35 million men and 21 Million women will begin to experience hair loss by their mid thirties. This is a common issue for many of my patients. Yes, hormone balance does help to correct the issue, but often takes a minimum of 6-12 months before anything is noticed. Recently, Douglas Labs has come out with a product that is well supported by research. HAIR GROWTH has produced a 34% decrease in hair loss as well as an increase in hair density in as little as two months. This is the best I've seen to date. I have attached the pdf brochure for you to view. I am excited to share these impressive results with my patients. P.S.--- don't forget the D3! AS ALWAYS... BE WELL, Cathi Catherine Stack ND, CNM www.journeyiihealth.com

Weight Loss and Constipation Obesity rates in this country are approaching 40% of the population and the consequences sadly result in medical conditions of diabetes and heart disease. We all know that diet is the main contributing factor when it comes to your weight and overall health. But what you may not know is that constipation can be a crippling obstacle when it comes to weight loss success. Donna M was a patient of mine years ago. She initially sought out my services as she was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes at the young age of 38. She stood 5’5” tall and at our first appointment weighed 185 pounds. She was determined not to be a diabetic and was truly motivated to turn things around. Motivation is the key to success for anything you desire. She began with the ELIMINATION DIET (attached) and incorporated 2 days of fasting per week to accelerate the process. These 2 days were not consecutive and allowed for 500 calories per day. WEIGHT LOSS SUPPLEMENTS: Berberine (Blood Sugar Control) & Endotrim (to boost metabolism) After 3 months of diet modification and a bit more movement, Donna was down about 15 pounds and happy so far. But things seems to stop there and she (and I) became frustrated at what seemed to be a roadblock. We sat down and went through everything. When I asked how often she was moving her bowels, she said every 2-3 days. Ouch! I will take the blame for this as constipation is my thing and I am usually much more proactive on addressing it with my patients. We determined that Donna suffered from Type 3 constipation and we needed to turn this around. Our constipation protocol was: NATURAL CALM every night (she blended 1-2tsp in water). MAGNESIUM CITRATE CAPSULES can be used for those who prefer them CAPE ALOE -2 capsules 2x per week Smooth Moves Tea 1-2 times per week (this is found in your local grocery store) After ONLY 1 month, Donna was down 8 more pounds and that was not even the best part. She had much more energy (so she walked more). Dull headaches that she often suffered from were gone and she said, “I’m just happier”, which made my heart soar. At 6 months she weighed 150 pounds and reported she was no longer considered diabetic or even prediabetic. ( We stopped the Berberine ) 8 years later, Donna has not regained any of her weight and remains happy, healthy, and active. (She no longer takes the Endotrim but continues a Multi and Vitamin D3) She says her diet is 80-90% healthy and still maintains her weight loss by doing a 500 calorie day 1x per week. If she feels the need to take off a few extra pounds that she may have put on, she returns to the 2 days of fasting per week. (Note: Her weight loss was fairly dramatic in regards to time frame, but Donna was determined) LESSON: Weight loss can and will be more difficult in the constipated individual.

CONSTIPATION CLINIC : THE CHILDREN'S RESOURCE Constipation in children is a common condition that many families struggle with. These are the basic staples that will help these children overcome this uncomfortable situation. These products, specific foods and recipes, and more helpful tools and advice are found in the ebooklet, Helping the Constipated Child , which is available at ConstipationClinic.com . 10% OFF! Magnesium (#1 Staple for daily use) Magnesium is the number one safe and effective staple when it comes to preventing constipation in children as well as adults. This is my #1 choice for children and when given at bedtime, will also help to promote restful sleep. I’d say that’s a win/win for everyone. Consult your pediatrician if your child has any kidney issues prior to use. DOSAGE: 1/2tsp- 2 tsps at night daily or as needed. This product also comes in Gummies In older children or adults I recommend Natural Calm which comes in a variety of flavors (see below). Digestive Enzymes (Daily Use) For children over the age of 3, digestive enzymes facilitate a better breakdown of foods. ProtoZymes are a broad-spectrum digestive enzyme formulation designed to support optimal breakdown and absorption of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, including lactose, to ensure maximum nutritional value for you and your children. Dosage for children 3 and older: Chew 1 tablet daily with or just prior to meals. PROBIOTICS (Daily Use) Chewable Probiotic is a great-tasting, chewable probiotic supplement sweetened with xylitol. The bacterial strains in this product have been scientifically tested and chosen for their ability to support a healthy immune system and GI functions. These bacterial strains are particularly hardy and have been shown to adhere to the intestinal lining, thereby helping to maintain intestinal integrity.* This product can be used by both adults and children. Dosage for children 2 and up: 1-2 chewable per day.

Hello UTI Sufferers! I am here to help you treat and avoid a very uncomfortable situation. 50% of women have had at least one UTI in their life. UTI's are more common in women than men. Many women experience UTI's after intercourse (Honeymoon Cystitis) and eventually dread having sex as this is a very uncomfortable after effect. After menopause UTI's become more common due to decreasing estrogen levels. No matter the cause, the symptoms which include burning, painful urination, lower abdominal cramping or spasms, frequency and urgency must be treated in order to avoid the more serious kidney infection (pyelonephritis). In the elderly, confusion is a common side effect. If any of you have suffered, this is no joke. UTI's can come on quick and you will want them treated NOW. Common antibiotics used to treat UTI's include ampicillin, amoxicillin, nitrofurantoin and Cipro. Yes, these work---but at a cost. While they are very effective in eradicating the cause of UTI (Escherichia coli in 90% of cases), they leave the individual open to IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and fungal overgrowth as good, protective bacteria is destroyed as well. Many women will suffer from a yeast infection or thrush following antibiotic treatment. Many feel as if they bounce between chronic infections and yeast infections. This doesn't just pertain to UTI's, but many other infections as well. If you have taken antibiotics frequently at any point in your life, you may easily be suffering or prone to IBS as a result of an imbalance of good and bad bacteria. How to GET OFF THE HAMSTER WHEEL. 1. HAVE EVERYTHING ON HAND. You do not want to wait for an order while your infection worsens. Even I would cave in to antibiotic use if I had to wait. 2. TREAT AN ACUTE INFECTION FOR 5 DAYS 3. PREVENT CHRONIC/ RECURRING INFECTIONS 4. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY GUT THE PRODUCTS: D-MANNOSE (Powder or Capsules) . D-Mannose is a naturally occurring sugar that E.coli happens to LOVE. The offending bacteria with jump onto this sugar molecule (rather than adhering and irritating your bladder and urethra) and leave your body easily when you pee! Almost sounds too easy--and it is. I have listed two choices for you below--- powder or capsule. OREGANO OIL Is a VERY effective antimicrobial. This won't harm good, protective bacteria. If you are not going to use what I have recommended below make sure it contains at least 60% carvacrol which is the active ingredient. PROBIOTICS ESPECIALLY AFTER ANY ANTIOBIOTIC USE! Below I have listed the Cadillac of probiotics as well as a good, more budget friendly kind. I typically recommend at least once bottle of the Mega Spore before switching to a good, less expensive form of probiotic (Ortho-Dophilus). I don't usually recommend at the start of treatment as you are not likely to get the full benefit. I will always start probiotics AFTER any antibiotic treatment or at least 3 days after any treatment has begun. DIETARY CONSIDERATIONS: Avoid sugary and starch foods. DRINK at least 8 glasses of filtered or spring water daily. Staying well hydrated will make the D-mannose work very well. Coconut oil is very healthy fat that contains anti microbial properties as well. I would incorporate at least a tablespoon per day. You can add to your oatmeal, coffee or just take it straight off the spoon. ACUTE INFECTION PROTOCOL D-Mannose: 1/2 scoop or 1 capsule (500mg) every 3 hours for 5 days Oregano Oil: 1 capsule 3x per day with food for 5 days Probiotics: Start day 3 or 4 and continue CHRONIC UTI PREVENTION: D-Mannose: 1/2 scoop or 1 capsule daily Oregano Oil: 1 capsule daily with a meal Probiotic: 1 daily So here you have the remedy in simplistic form. Feel free to email me if you have any questions! BE WELL, PEE WELL! Cathi Catherine Stack ND, CNM www.journeyiihealth.com cathi626@gmail.com

In these very strange times, it is more important than ever to protect our health and keep our immune systems strong. Sometimes even those who normally wouldn't consider a vaccine are now facing the possibility of having to take one. I am one of them. I usually opt out as I feel I have a very strong immune system with optimal Vitamin D3 levels. I also have tools at my disposal (supplements and foods) that would help me overcome much of what I could come down with. That being said, I will probably get the Covid-19 vaccine. My reason may seem superficial as I do not fear Covid-19, but I do miss my Dad---very much. He is in a local nursing home and I have only seen him briefly since this pandemic began. I miss our visits and I miss his hugs. He has dementia and has little concept of time for that I am grateful. Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies and feel it will become a requirement to do so until long after this pandemic is over. These are my reasons and I'm sure you may have your own. Detoxification helps the body clean out the body's filters in order to function optimally. Over time, these filters, especially the liver, becomes congested with toxic and heavy metal debris. No matter how clean you eat or live, you are not immune to the potential impact of heavy metal overload. ADHD, autism, Alzheimer's, anxiety, cancers, infertility, depression and seizures are just some conditions that are caused by or made worse by heavy metal exposure. We are all affected so we should all take the time to assist the body detoxification. My best advice for anyone getting vaccinated or for those who just need to be "cleaned-up"--DO A DETOX! Incorporate the supplements listed below with Pure water and a clean diet for a minimum of 3-4 weeks. You will feel fabulous. ATTACHED is an excellent guide for how to optimize your diet. MINERALS ( Complete Mineral Complex by Designs for Health is one of the best combination products for minerals-- added below) The best minerals to assist the body in detoxification are the following: MAGNESIUM - Magnesium helps to facilitate all of your body's enzymatic processes, metabolism as well as facilitating detoxification. 80% of the population is deficient in magnesium. ZINC - Minerals help push out heavy metals. Zinc helps push out Cadmium. Cadmium causes more cancers than all other metals combined. SELENIUM- Selenium helps prevent viral replication. It help detox arsenic, beryllium, cadmium and mercury. 200mcg is all you need and more is not better. Brazil nuts are high in selenium. FOODS THAT FACILITATE DETOX of HEAVY METALS Wild Blueberries FRESH Cilantro Spirulina Barley Grass Powder Atlantic Dulse * Alkalizing Greens Blend by Progressive Labs is a great combination product Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie 2 bananas 2 cups frozen Wild Blueberries 1 cup Fresh Cilantro 1 cup no sugar added orange juice---OR Coconut water 1 scoop of Alkalizing Greens Blend by Progressive Labs ***add water and blend for desired consistency Vitamin C - Vitamin C helps flush the system. During this protocol, 2000mg of Vitamin C is recommended Don't forget the D3! I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to Vitamin D3 levels, but one of the most life saving things you can do for yourself is to keep D3 levels above 65. (70-100 is best). For most, this will take 4000-6000iu daily. Have your levels checked with your yearl blood work!

Over the Counter Remedies for Hormone Imbalance Hormones PROGESTERONE- Over the counter progesterone is a cost effective option to the prescription. For perimenopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, anxiety and sleep disruption, this could be very helpful. This is breast cancer protective. ***After menopause, it may not be as helpful without support from estrogen and or DHEA. Dose for most is approximately 20mg per day. Note that it typically takes 4 weeks for noticeable improvement. DHEA- Vitality hormone that converts to estrogen and testosterone. This may help support libido. Dosage for men and women differ greatly. Women 5-10mg Men 25-50mg per day PREGNENOLONE- Precursor to all hormones. It is a byproduct of cholesterol. Although I have rarely prescribed this alone, it has been helpful in those who are tough to balance. It seems to be especially effective in those who suffer from depression and appears to be protective against memory issues and even Alzheimer’s. Typical dose is 30mg per day and is best taken at night. Other Remedies: Adrenal Fatigue- (The feeling of being easily overwhelmed or burnt out.) Adrenal Complex- take 2 capsules 2x daily for 2 weeks then just 2 daily in the am OR HPA AXIS (plant based) Anxiety- GABA (neurotransmitter) reduces severity of anxiety and emotional outbursts. If taken at night will help with sleep, but can be taken without drowsiness for daytime anxiety. Cerenity- Excellent but expensive product. Patient favorite Lemon Balm tincture- 1-2 dropperfuls in small amount of water Rescue Remedy- drops or pastilles Sleep disturbance- L-theanine- this is a great supplement for those who have trouble falling asleep due to an overactive brain that just won’t shut up. GABA - trouble staying asleep Cortisol Manager- this works well but it’s pricey. Best-Rest Formula- combination product Underactive thyroid- The number 1 cause of hypothyroid is iodine deficiency. This is very important and may help with overall metabolism i-Throid- Iodine supplement Fan, Chill Mat or pillow-- very helpful while you're waiting for supplements to work ;) You can find safe, quality supplements all in one place. https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/journey Login and create a password. CONSTIPATION TIPS & TRICKS By Catherine Stack ©2020 Dedicated to all the individuals out there who have struggled with chronic and situational constipation. There has been no better education than working with constipated patients. The one on one experience of hundreds, maybe thousands of individuals has filled my tool box with a variety of remedies, tips and tricks. There are no medical text-books that come close to helping the constipated individual. More than 61 million people present to the Emergency Department each year with moderate to severe abdominal pain only to be x-rayed or scanned and told they were all backed up. Very few receive beneficial advice when it comes to what to do about it. But at least your not dying--- right? Ugggg so very frustrating. POOP CHART- What's your type? 📷 Common Reasons for Constipation: Diet/ Hydration- For many, the consumption of dairy is one of the most common dietary causes of constipation. If you can completely eliminate all dairy for at least 3 weeks and have no improvement, eliminate wheat (gluten). Please do not look for gluten-free baked replacements as you will likely gain weight. Eat more paleo and less grains. Use caution with the keto diet as this tends to be constipating. Water intake does matter but for most of my chronic patients, not as much as we would hope. Try to drink at least 60 ounces of water per day. Herbal teas & flavored seltzers count. Previous surgical scar tissue - Previous surgery or endometriosis can be the culprit to a constipated individual that was not always that way. Scar tissue or adhesion's can alter the anatomy and function of the colon. Now there is not much you can do about this (maybe massage) but the remedies listed below will be very helpful. Medications- Pain medications, anesthesia, antidepressants and allergy medications are just a few common drug groups that contribute to constipation. Post surgical constipation is extremely common and extremely painful. Thankfully it is easy to treat--but it can be very intense. Treating from below will probably be more successful than ingesting medications or supplements and painfully waiting for them to work. Anatomy- Approximately 15% of the population is anatomically challenged as their colons are not the Text-book version. These individuals have extra twists and turns, large areas and well as narrowed areas. This is commonly the case for those who state that constipation has been a life-long issue. These are the trickiest to treat as they need to continually switch things up in order to stay on top of things. Stress- Being stressed out and anxious can be the perfect segway to constipation and well as diarrhea. Emotional health definitely plays a role in your physical disposition. Below are tried and true remedies, supplements, resources and suggestions. ACUTE CONSTIPATION TREATMENT (Need help now) (especially for post operative constipation related to anesthesia or pain medicine. NOT FOR ABDOMINAL SURGERY (intestinal, gallbladder, appendix, rectal) Insert Dulcolax Suppository rectally and wait 20 minutes. Follow with Fleet Enema that has been warmed (test temperature on inner wrist) under faucet. Both of these items are readily available at your local grocery or drug store. COLON HYDROTHERAPY (COLONICS) A very helpful process to restore peristalsis and function to a sluggish colon. An experienced therapist will help you decide on frequency to best suit your situation. For a more detailed description click here FILL YOUR TOOLBOX ( you will be successful if you keep your body guessing) Smooth Moves Tea - Use this 1-2 times per week. Not for daily use. Mag O7 - This was introduced to me by one of my patients. You will need to play with the dose as my patients seem to fall between 4-10 capsules 1x per day. Again this is not for daily use but to help keep your colon guessing by switching things up. Read the reviews. Kondrumel Oil For occasional use only - as directed. Position yourself for success - squatting is the position to facilitate a healthy bowel movement. This adaptive device has helped millions! More Information: Free Yourself from a CONSTIPATED Life more suggestions and information in regards to an uncomfortable topic. It’s an award winning book that you won’t want to share. BELOW ARE MORE SUPPLEMENTS SPECIFIC TO CONSTIPATION Magnesium Citrate- Is the best form of magnesium specific to constipation (Tablets OR Powder) Dosage for a constipated individual will be between 500mg -1000mg ***Make this your nightly staple! Cape Aloe- #1 Patient Favorite. Take 1-2 daily at night as needed. Good Luck and feel free to email me with questions: Journeyiihealth@gmail.com Be WELL, Cathi Catherine Stack ND, CNM www.journeyiihealth.com
