Digestive Support Protocol

Gut issues are very individual and may require very specific testing and support to fix problems for good, but these 3 supplements can be helpful for many digestive symptoms. MegaSporeBiotic is my favorite probiotic supplement and is generally well-tolerated. Bitters are great for minimizing bloating or acid reflux, and help the body secrete digestive juices. Magnesium citrate is best used in cases of constipation, so if you do not have an issue with this, then Magnesium glycinate may be a better option for you, which is gentler on the stomach. Before starting supplements, it is best to check with your medical provider, especially when taking medications, to avoid any adverse interactions.
Thyroid Support Protocol

3 more items in Thyroid Support ProtocolThyroid support is not usually as simple as just taking supplements, so this protocol can vastly differ from person to person. The thyroid requires many nutrients to produce thyroid hormone and then to activate it and use it, it's a multi-step process. Zinc, selenium, iodine, magnesium, vitamin D, and more are all key players here. The other important thing to note about thyroid support is that thyroid hormone is converted in the gut and the liver, which is why I included liver supportive supplements and my favorite probiotic on here. Not everyone needs this support, but it available if that is an area in need of some love. Another point to mention is that the thyroid is usually not the root of the problem. The thyroid typically gets stressed out by something else going on in the body- adrenal fatigue, under-eating, gut issues, chronic infections, food sensitivities, etc. It's important to figure out what those root issues are in order to truly heal the thyroid. Sometimes thyroid medication is needed and that's completely okay. These supplements can still be supportive if you are on thyroid meds already because it can help the thyroid hormone get activated and do its job. Before starting supplements, it is best to check with your medical provider, especially when taking medications, to avoid any adverse interactions.
Adrenal Support Protocol

Your adrenals produce stress hormones, such as cortisol, and when we have been stressed out for a period of time, it is important to show the adrenal glands some love and support. Protocols for adrenal support will depend on if you have overactive adrenals (high stress hormones) or underactive adrenals (adrenal fatigue). The only way to know this is to get proper testing either from your doctor or a DUTCH adrenal test. That being said, these few supplements are good for most people for adrenal support regardless of if adrenals are over or under active. Adrenal cocktail powder provides minerals and vitamin C which are generally quickly depleted during times of stress. Magnesium is another mineral that is used up during high stress periods. HPA Adapt is an adaptogen blend. This may not be for everyone, again, depending on if adrenals are over or under producing. HPA Adapt can provide sustained energy and focus during the day, and is helpful especially if you tend to get rely a lot on coffee or get that afternoon slump. I don't suggest taking this late in the day or it may keep you up at night. Before starting supplements, it is best to check with your medical provider, especially when taking medications, to avoid any adverse interactions.
Female Fertility Protocol

2 more items in Female Fertility ProtocolGetting the right nutrients to support fertility and preconception is important when beginning the process of trying to conceive. Refer back to the module on fertility nutrition for more detailed information on why I recommend specific nutrients. I recommend Optimal Prenatal below, but if it is out of stock, I also recommend Full Circle Prenatal found here: https://www.fullcircleprenatal.com/?rfsn=4329345.89370f&utm_source=refersion&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=4329345.89370f Both of these prenatals do not contain iron because not everyone requires iron. It's important to check with your doctor on your iron status to determine whether or not you specifically should be supplementing additional iron. I included an iron supplement below if that is the case, but your dose will be dependent on your doctor's recommendation. When possible, it is a good idea to start prenatal supplements about 3 months before trying to conceive. It takes about this long for eggs to fully mature, so the egg quality is likely to improve if on supplements for at least 3 months. Before starting supplements, it is best to check with your medical provider, especially when taking medications, to avoid any adverse interactions.
Post Birth Control Protocol

Transitioning off of hormonal birth control can be a bumpy road for some. I usually recommend supporting the body in 3 different ways before transitioning off birth control: liver support, gut support, and nutrient support. Birth control can put a strain on the liver, alter gut health, and can deplete some important nutrients in the body. By supporting these 3 areas, we can have a smoother transition off of birth control. Ideally, these should be taken approximately 3 months before coming off birth control, but can be started at any point in the process. If the prenatal is out of stock, I also recommend Full Circle Prenatal found here: https://www.fullcircleprenatal.com/?rfsn=4329345.89370f&utm_source=refersion&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=4329345.89370f Before starting supplements, it is best to check with your medical provider, especially when taking medications, to avoid any adverse interactions.
PCOS Protocol (Insulin resistance and Inflammation)

3 more items in PCOS Protocol (Insulin resistance and Inflammation)PCOS symptoms can be dramatically improved through the right diet, lifestyle, and supplement changes. These are the supplements I suggest for PCOS with insulin resistance and inflammation. These may help regulate cycles, support ovulation and fertility, and reduce risk of chronic disease such as diabetes, fatty liver, and heart disease. While these are the supplements I may suggest for clients with PCOS, there is always the risk of interactions with current medications if you are taking any, so I suggest checking with your medical provider before starting supplements. For instance, if you are currently on Metformin for PCOS, check with your doctor before starting an inositol supplement.
Painful Periods Protocol

Painful periods can be related to a variety of hormonal imbalances, most commonly high levels of estrogen, but not always. Supporting detox pathways to encourage healthy estrogen levels may improve painful periods. Other supplements such as turmeric (curcumin is the active compound within turmeric) can be very anti-inflammatory and help a lot with painful periods. Magnesium can also soothe muscle contractions associated with period cramps. Broccoprotect is a concentrated broccoli sprout supplement that is helpful to support healthy levels of estrogen. If you do not have high estrogen levels, it may not be needed. Before starting supplements, it is best to check with your medical provider, especially when taking medications, to avoid any adverse interactions.
