Immune Boosters-For Kids Here are some great supplements to make sure your child has the support their body needs to face and fight illness this season. These are all in easy to take forms. If you would like a recommendation in pill form just let me know. Elderberry - great support for immunity, especially with upper respiratory germs. Glutathione - supports immunity, healing, and protects cells, especially in the lungs. Cod liver oil - Rich in vitamin A, an important vitamin for immunity. Also rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which are vital to good health. Vitamin D - Essential for good immunity. Levels can drop during the Fall & Winter. Keep your kids' levels in the 60-80 range. Protein support- ensuring enough protein is important for the immune system to have the resources to build plenty of antibodies. Probiotics- important for respiratory and gut health. This blend is specifically strains that do not produce histamine and help break down mucus. Zinc - vital for a healthy immune system, digestion, and tissue healing. This is quickly used up by the body, especially the immune system. Keep it replenished. Make sure your kids are eating plenty of food with snacks as well as meals. Be sure to include healthy carbs, natural low-sugar starches. If you need ideas for this, please just let me know. If your child has any gastrointestinal issues: picky eating, gas, bloating, unformed or hard poop, constipation or diarrhea. Please let me know so we can begin supporting their digestion. Immunity, mood, hormones....so many things begin in the gut.
