    Here are our general recommendations for supporting both fertility and a healthy pregnancy. If you have a history of miscarriage, low ovarian reserve, PCOS, blocked fallopian tubes, or are 35+, your regimen will differ. We recommend taking these supplements at least three months prior to trying to conceive: 1. New Chapter Prenatal One Daily contains methylfolate (more readily absorbed than synthetic folic acid) & choline, made from organic vegetables and herbs that provide a natural, full spectrum of fermented nutrients. Includes non-constipating iron and a clinical dose of ginger for nausea relief. 3. Pure Encapsulations NAC (N-Acetyl-l-Cysteine) is a cellular antioxidant that supports glutathione levels and may improve egg quality as well as reduce the risk of miscarriage. Aim to take pre-pregnancy and at least through the first trimester. NAC can also be taken if acetaminophen is ever used to reduce a fever during pregnancy as it is an FDA-approved antidote for acetaminophen toxicity. 3. Thorne Prenatal DHA OR Nordic Naturals Vegan DHA provides Omega-3s for healthy fetal brain and retina development. DHA is fish oil, while vegan DHA is derived from micro algae. If no dietary restrictions, non-vegan DHA is recommended. Pre-pregnancy and early-pregnancy supplementation is very important to support first trimester development. 5. Pure Encapsulations Calcium-Magnesium (Citrate/Malate) is important for bone health for both mother and fetus, especially in the third trimester. Calcium supplementation may reduce the risk of preeclampsia and reduce the risk of pre-term birth. Magnesium can support muscles and nerve health, sleep and aid constipation. Take this supplement separate from the prenatal, as calcium inhibits iron absorption. It's best to take it in the evening with a meal.
