Post-Antibiotic Gut Recovery Plan

Post-Antibiotic Gut Recovery Plan resource 1My Post-Antibiotic Gut Recovery Protocol 🌱 If you want some extra support rebuilding your gut after antibiotics, I like combining MegaSporeBiotic + RestorFlora . You can start this after you finish your antibiotic course rather than taking it at the exact same time. And the good news is that you haven't “missed your window” if you finished antibiotics weeks or even months ago. Your microbiome can remain disrupted for a while after antibiotics so supporting it later can still be worthwhile. The key is to start slowly with both supplements and gradually work your way up rather than jumping straight into a full dose. This gives your gut time to adjust and makes it easier to see how you respond. MegaSporeBiotic provides several hardy probiotic bacteria that support a more diverse and balanced gut environment, while RestorFlora adds additional beneficial bacteria along with Saccharomyces boulardii , a probiotic yeast that can be especially helpful when your microbiome has been disrupted. I like using them together because they provide different types of microbial support. The goal is to help rebuild a healthy microbial environment where beneficial organisms can thrive and opportunistic organisms have less opportunity to take over. And remember, your supplements are only one piece of the puzzle. After antibiotics, focus on: 🌱 Slowly increasing fiber, especially if you're prone to bloating or digestive symptoms. Start with 1 TBSP a day extra than where you are now, and every adding a TBSP more. 🥕 Eating a variety of plant foods to provide different types of fiber for your microbes. Don't focus on one super food, diversity is better for your gut. 🥬 Slowly introducing fermented foods like plain yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut or kimchi as tolerated 🍬 Reducing added sugar and highly processed foods 🧃 Being mindful of artificial sweeteners, especially if they worsen your digestion 🚶♀️ Getting regular movement like walking or strength training 😴 Prioritizing quality sleep 💧 Staying hydrated 🍽️ Gradually expanding your food variety rather than staying on a highly restrictive “gut healing” diet Your microbiome is an ecosystem. The goal isn't to obsess over killing “bad” bacteria. It's to create an environment where the beneficial microbes can thrive again. 🤍
View protocolSIBO Friendly Probiotics

Hello! I've been getting a lot of questions on probiotics and SIBO. Most probiotics can actually worsen SIBO symptoms which is why it's important to choose a probiotic with bacteria strands that don't ferment carbs or stop in the small intestines. That's why I like spore based probiotics for SIBO. Here are my favorite SIBO friendly probiotics. You do not need both options! MegaSporebiotic is my go to but I love RestorFlora if you are struggling with diarrhea on top of SIBO. Use one or the other! Make sure to work up to the full dose of this or any probiotic supplement to avoid an increase in symptoms! Thanks, Megan
