Food Poisoning and Traveler's Diarrhea Kit

Due to high demand, current outbreaks, and summer travels, I have created a Traveler's Diarrhea Kit. This can also be used for Food Poisoning. This is just for your trip and 30 days after (or your food poisoning and 30 days after). Please follow the timing and dosing described in this protocol. In the case of food poisoning, you should always consult your primary doctor and heed warning signs for dehydration and excessive symptoms. In addition to the below, buy Florastor at your local pharmacy or grocery store. You will take 1 capsule twice a day, but at least 2 hours away from the Allimax for 7 days. After that, you will take 1 capsule twice daily for at least 30 days. Speeds up the repair and regeneration process. In addition to the below, if you do not have severe gas/bloating/IBS or SIBO, you can take GOS for a week before your trip, if this is for prevention of travelers diarrhea. You can also start the Florastor 3-7 days before the trip.
View protocolThe Best Probiotics for Antibiotic Use

After your broad-spectrum antibiotics, take Culturelle, one twice a day. In addition, get Florastor from the grocery store and take that twice a day. Do both for 1-2 months. Jarrow Ideal Bowel Support is also a good one, for prevention, leading up to antibiotic use. If you choose to use probiotics during antibiotics be sure they are taken several hours apart from each other. These are evidence-based probiotic strains (with the right quantity) from human trials that show efficacy.
View protocolGas/Bloat? Try this.

3 more items in Gas/Bloat? Try this.Gas/Bloat and Distention are common complaints we see at Precision Gut Health and I certainly saw in conventional GI medicine. One must get examined and tested by a conventional GI practice for chronic and acute issues. Aside from a personalized functional medicine and nutrition approach, it can be worth trying a couple of things while you wait. You may try 1-2 of these things while awaiting an individualized approach. Of note, if this has been tried already and issues persist, you will need personalized support as there is more in depth exploration needed. Watch for food products (read labels!) that readily ferment within the colon (eg, dairy, fructose, fructans, fiber, and sorbitol)

View protocolCollagen Powders

These mix in well into hot liquids and even cold. They are flavorless, colorless and also have no texture. The trick is to gradually pour it in while stirring, to get the best dissolution. Collagen powders provide some protein but they aren't quite a "protein shake". Enjoy!
