Mitochondrial Support for Energy

4 more items in Mitochondrial Support for EnergyMagnesium Malate : Research has explored the use of Magnesium Malate for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Its combination of magnesium and malic acid addresses both mineral cofactor needs and Krebs cycle support, which may be particularly beneficial for clients with deep fatigue and muscle pain. COQ10 : CoQ10's antioxidant properties help shield your cells from daily stress and damage. This protective effect is particularly valuable for patients dealing with chronic conditions that involve inflammation, including MCAS and hEDS. Omega 3's rTG/TG Formula : A major advantage of the rTG form is that its absorption is not dependent on being taken with a fatty meal . In contrast, the EE form has particularly poor absorption in a fasted state . For clients with digestive sensitivities or those who prefer to take their supplements on an empty stomach, the rTG form is the more reliable choice. MCT Oil: Beyond fueling your cells, MCT oil provides a quick and efficient energy source for your brain. Clinical studies show it can support working memory and focus, helping to overcome the 'brain fog' often associated with fatigue and chronic conditions. While beneficial, clinical responses to MCT oil can vary, and high doses (above 30g) may cause gastrointestinal discomfort. It's generally best to start with a low dose and increase gradually. A common strategy to improve tolerability is to use a lower dose Pick One - Metabolic Maintenance Big One W/ and W/o Iron: The Big One® With/without Iron is the metabolic 'spark plug' for this protocol. It provides activated B vitamins and trace minerals that allow your body to actually utilize the MCT oil, CoQ10, and Omega-3s for energy production . For MCAS clients, it's particularly valuable because it supports both DAO and HNMT histamine clearance pathways, helping to reduce overall histamine burden . Due to its methylated B vitamins, start low and go slow if you are sensitive. I personally started with taking the multivitamin 3x a week, and then increased slowly to all 7 days a week. Glycine Sticks: This helps if you are experiencing symptoms of overmethylation, which can cause insomnia, anxiety, jitters, or mood swings. Glycine acts as a "methyl sink" to soak up excess methyl groups and calm the overstimulation, while taurine helps settle your nervous system. It's a gentle way to take the edge off when your system feels like it's running too fast. I recommend using 1/4 of a stick to start. Mix in water for easy fast use. As always, consult a doctor who understands your condition before starting or changing any protocol. I am here as a health coach if you need more support!
MCAS Protocol (advanced)

This is the advanced MCAS protocol I have built for all of my clients as a health coach. Consult with an experienced ND or Functional medicine doctor before starting or changing anything with your protocol. I am available for health coaching sessions to discuss more. This may be edited in the future, and new protocols may be provided for your consideration.
MCAS Protocol (beginner)

DAO is essential to reducing histamine from food-based sources. Foods listed as "high histamine" or "histamine liberators" may not actually be YOUR triggers. You may be surprised how and when food triggers a histamine reaction. DAO with every meal helps keep your baseline gut inflammation lower and helps you process histamine quickly, sometimes stopping reactions as soon as they begin. Vitamin C helps boost your natural DAO levels. Many people with MCAS or histamine intolerance do have a DAO enzyme polymorphism which reduces DAO production. Vitamin C will also have anti histamine effect. Vitamin C can be used as part of your rescue protocol as well. Vitamin C works best when taken at least once a day, every day. Choose liposomal formulations whenever possible. Quercetin + Nettles are natural mast cell stabilizers and work bet when taken at least once a day. While not a replacement for gold standard like Cromalyn or even Ketotifen, this combination can be very helpful. Always consult with a doctor. This is the beginner protocol for people who need a simple baseline to start with. You can always book a health coaching session with me online to discuss more. - Aera
Aera's Personal Regimen

14 more items in Aera's Personal RegimenHi! I wanted to let you see exactly what I take in case it's helpful. Please note that in my specific genetic profile that I require cofactors and building blocks that help create SAMe and Glutathione. I take a specific multivitamin for this. This regimen will not be supportive for everyone and you should double check it against your situation. With a Slow COMT and Slow MAOA, there are many supplements I cannot take. Less often means more for me because of this, and because I have slow CYP enzymes. This is why it's important to consider your genetics (I recommend 3x4 genetics to check all your methylation, cellular transport enzymes, neurotransmitter enzymes including the ones I mentioned). This is the culmination of 3 years of careful self-observation, tracking, and research with support from an evidence-based naturalpath and a dietician. I have added notes/more information in some of the "instructions". reach out to me anytime for a coaching session if you'd like to process your journey, or ask me more questions about this. If this regimen changes, I will update this! My personal regimen is very expensive, thankfully, everyone is different and may not need most, or even any, of these! Not available here that I also use: NOW Foods Sunflower Lecithin Powder (I've added a liquid sunflower lecithin, instead) for Phosphatadyl Choline as I have a higher requirement of choline Liquid IV for electrolytes (I have a resource for wholesale pricing if you use it and need it, but find costco too expensive) Anthony's Hemp Protein Powder , I use 3tsbp in my daily oatmeal Just pure organic peppermint leaf tea (Trader Joe's Choice Teas etc, has to be plain no other added ingredients). I use this for nighttime mast cell stabilization, to help motility/support bowels, and it is anti inflammatory. I do one tea bag after dinner with 8oz of water steeped for 5 minutes. Anthony's sells a large bag of organic loose leaf peppermint, and there are local bulk tea suppliers who provide just peppermint tea. It has to be peppermint, NOT spearmint. Peppermint is the one with the research that shows its for mast cells. Start low and slow as you need to adapt to it's vasodilation properties. It caused me 1-2 little POTs episodes, and now it has 0 side effects. Don't drink two cups like I did the first time! Ketones / Anti Fungal support: Califia Farms Coconut Milk (I freeze into 1/2c servings. This is rich in coconut cream but isn't high histamine like canned coconut. It is rich in Lauric Acid (C12) which is also great for slow burning energy and anti fungal support) Extra Virgin Unrefined Coconut Oil concentrations of C8/C10 (Costco is the best deal, I added a regular MCT oil for higher concentrations of C8/C10, it will have no significant level of C12 (Lauric Acid) ) I don't process glucose well and this has helped me a lot with symptoms of cellular hypothyroidism from a DIO2 enzyme that is slow (responsible for converting T4 into Active T3), and for supporting my APOE E3/E4 variation (which makes me higher risk for Alzheimer's). It's also more effective and fast for me because I have a fast LPL enzyme, which is responsible for taking lipoprotein packages from the liver, through the blood, into cells to feed mitochondria.
