Smarta Functional Medicine

Marta Banuelos

Hi, I'm Marta Banuelos, founder of Smarta Functional Medicine — a Functional Medicine Practitioner, Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, and Certified Nutrition Specialist with over 7 years of experience helping people finally get answers about their health, especially when it comes to Hashimoto's and thyroid dysfunction. What sets my approach apart is that I don't stop at symptoms or standard labs. I use a genetics-first, root-cause framework to understand why your body is struggling in the first place — from nutrient metabolism to immune regulation to how your thyroid actually functions at the cellular level. This lets me build protocols that are personalized to your biology, not just your symptoms. I created this Fullscript store to give my clients (and anyone doing this work) direct access to the professional-grade supplements and functional testing kits I use in my own practice — carefully vetted, third-party tested, and chosen specifically to support thyroid health, gut function, and whole-body resilience. Whether you're newly diagnosed or you've been managing Hashimoto's for years and feel like you're not getting real answers, my goal is the same: find the root cause, not just manage the symptoms.
