I understand the healthcare system from both sides. I’m a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience. I’ve worked inside a high-acuity, protocol-driven system and understand its strengths and limitations. In 2022, at age 38, I was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer. I realized no one was going to care about me and my survival more than me! That is where my healing journey began. From the moment I heard the words "triple positive breast cancer", I knew I was going to turn those words into something beautiful and healing. I had no idea at the time what that was…but God knew! Becoming a patient revealed gaps that are easy to miss from the provider side including: Limited discussion of nutrition and lifestyle Little focus on prevention or recurrence risk Care that felt standardized rather than individualized My experience reshaped how I approach care. Seeing healthcare from the patient side made one thing clear, better outcomes require discovering the root cause instead of just symptom management. Healing requires education, personalization, and addressing the factors that influence health long before and long after a diagnosis. That realization led to the creation of Triple Positive Healthcare.
