Allergies & Sensitivities
Celiac & Gluten Sensitivity (blood spot)
Celiac disease (CD) is often undiagnosed and is caused in genetically predisposed individuals by abnormal intestinal permeability and abnormal immune response to gluten, a protein complex found in wheat, barley, spelt and rye. The inflammatory autoimmune response damages the lining of the small bowel and is associated with diarrhea, bloating, fatigue, nutritional deficiencies, and systemic autoimmune conditions. Gluten sensitivity can cause similar symptoms but without the same level of tissue damage. The Celiac & Gluten Sensitivity profile from Doctor’s Data helps differentiate between CD and gluten sensitivity by evaluating the serum titers of IgA for deamidated gliadin peptide and gliadin.
IgE Allergy Explorer™ (150+ Extract and Component Allergens)
Over 50 million Americans suffer from allergies, with symptoms ranging from rather mild to life-threatening anaphylaxis. Thankfully, diagnosis and treatment related to allergies is on the rise – over 350% between 2007 and 2016. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) is a class of human antibodies, normally activated to fight parasitic infections. In allergic individuals, these IgE antibodies are misdirected to fight harmless substances like pollen, mite particles, or common foods. This comprehensive test measures IgE antibodies to over 150 allergens in just a few drops of blood, making it one of the most extensive and easy-to-use functional tests of its kind. The panel also includes alpha‑gal antibody testing for the evaluation of alpha‑gal syndrome, expanding its utility for patients with delayed allergic reactions following tick bites.
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a class of human antibodies, normally activated to fight parasitic infections. In food-sensitive individuals, these IgE antibodies are misdirected to mistake common foods for harmful antigens. This comprehensive test measures IgG antibodies to over 250 food allergens in just a few drops of blood, making it one of the most extensive and easy-to-use functional tests of its kind. The Food Explorer panel results will help you personalize diet and lifestyle guidance while reducing and eliminating symptoms related to adverse food reactions.
The FIT 22 test evaluates sensitivities to 22 common foods by measuring IgG and immune complexes. It includes the Gut Barrier Panel to help identify gut dysfunction, from simple sensitivity to inflammation to more extreme levels of leaky gut.
The FIT 176 test evaluates sensitivities to 176 foods and additives by measuring IgG antibodies and immune complexes. It includes the Gut Barrier Panel to help identify gut dysfunction, from simple sensitivity to inflammation to more extreme levels of leaky gut.
This comprehensive panel measures IgE and IgG antibodies to over 250 allergens in just a few drops of blood, making it one of the most extensive and easy-to-use functional tests of its kind. IgE Allergy Explorer measures IgE antibodies to a plethora of foods and environmental allergens. It includes alpha‑gal antibody testing for the evaluation of alpha‑gal syndrome, expanding its utility for patients with delayed allergic reactions following tick bites. IgG Food Explorer tests immunoglobulin (IgG) antibodies to a variety of common foods.
