This panel reads the full iron pattern, not just ferritin: iron, TIBC, % saturation and ferritin together, plus hs-CRP so inflammation can't disguise the result. True deficiency and inflammation-driven iron blockade look identical on ferritin alone and are handled in opposite ways. Also CBC with differential, B12 with methylmalonic acid, folate, reticulocyte count, and a metabolic panel.
