How Do I Know If I Have Inflammation? The best approach is to discuss your concerns with your healthcare provider. One of the most useful tests for measuring chronic inflammation is: hs-CRP (High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein) This simple blood test helps determine: Whether chronic inflammation is present The degree of inflammation Cardiovascular risk associated with inflammation Ask your healthcare provider whether hs-CRP testing is appropriate for you. Remember: finding and addressing the root cause of inflammation is essential. Poor nutrition, excess body fat, chronic stress, poor sleep, infections, autoimmune conditions, environmental exposures, and metabolic dysfunction can all contribute to chronic inflammation.

It is well established that Nitric Oxide does help in vascular muscle relaxation. The Neo40 formula came out of the University of Texas Health Science Center's N-O Discovery Program, is a convenient daily supplement that helps to quickly increase body’s Nitric Oxide. Bonito peptide powder (standardized to contain 85% peptides) grape seed extract (standardized to contain 90% polyphenols) and aged garlic have also been shown to help support blood pressure in the healthy range. Blood pressure is influenced by many factors including nutrition, body weight, physical activity, sleep quality, stress levels, emotional wellbeing, medications, genetics, and overall cardiovascular health. Supplements and foods can be valuable supportive tools, but they work best when combined with healthy lifestyle habits and under the guidance of your healthcare provider. It's improtant to check the blood pressure regularly and discuss any regimen for blood pressure support with your provider.

Filling the Nutritional Gaps Even when you’re trying to eat well, it’s very common to have hidden nutrient gaps that can affect your energy, mood, metabolism, immune system, and overall vitality. In practice, the most frequent deficiencies we see are omega-3 fats, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and other B vitamins, magnesium, fiber, and inadequate protein intake. these deficiencies can contribute to low muscle mass over time. Many people don’t know their actual lab values, or they supplement inconsistently without rechecking levels to ensure they are truly optimized. This protocol is designed to help strengthen your foundation. Support may include a high-quality multivitamin, vitamin D3 with K2, omega-3s, targeted B-vitamin support, magnesium, fiber, adequate protein intake, and, when appropriate, creatine to support muscle and metabolic health. These are not extreme interventions — they are foundational tools to help your body function at its best. As always, we recommend appropriate lab monitoring and personalized guidance to ensure safe, effective, and intentional replacement. Always check with your doctor before starting a new supplement or nutritional protocol. Attached PDF has my favorite Multivitamin, FIBER and B vitamins which are not available on Fullscript.

Nutritional supplements can be helpful in reducing the risk of cancer when used appropriately and in combination with a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any supplement regimen, as individual needs and potential interactions with medications or medical conditions can vary. Here are some nutritional supplements that have shown promise in cancer risk reduction: Vitamin D: Adequate levels of vitamin D are associated with a reduced risk of certain cancers. Vitamin D supplements may be recommended for individuals with low levels, especially in regions with limited sun exposure. Calcium: Some studies suggest that calcium may have a protective effect against colorectal cancer. Calcium supplements can be considered, but it's important not to exceed recommended daily intake levels. Selenium: Selenium is an essential trace mineral that may help reduce the risk of certain cancers. Selenium supplements should be used with caution, as excessive intake can be harmful. Eating selenium-rich foods like nuts, seeds, and whole grains is often a safer option. Curcumin (Turmeric): Curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It may help reduce cancer risk and has shown potential in various studies. Green Tea Extract: Green tea is rich in antioxidants, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which has been associated with cancer prevention. Green tea extract supplements may be beneficial. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oil supplements, have anti-inflammatory properties and may be helpful in reducing the risk of certain cancers. Resveratrol: Resveratrol is a compound found in grapes and red wine. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and is being studied for its potential in cancer prevention. Folate (Folic Acid): Adequate folate intake is associated with a lower risk of certain cancers, such as colorectal cancer. Folate supplements are often recommended for pregnant women and individuals with certain medical conditions. Lycopene: Lycopene, found in tomatoes and other red fruits, is believed to have a protective effect against prostate cancer. Lycopene supplements may be considered. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): CoQ10 is an antioxidant that may help protect cells from damage. It's being researched for its potential role in cancer prevention and as a supportive supplement during cancer treatment. Please see attached PDF for Anti-Inflammatory Supplement Support Recommendations and Links for anti-inflammatory supplements not found in Fullscript. Remember that supplements should not be a substitute for a healthy diet. A well-balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats is essential for overall health and cancer risk reduction. Also, consider that some supplements can interact with medications or have adverse effects when taken in excess. Always consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian before adding supplements to your routine. Your healthcare professional can assess your specific needs and recommend the most appropriate supplements for you.

While it's generally best to obtain nutrients from a balanced diet, some supplements may be beneficial for supporting metabolic health. It's important to note that individual needs vary, and it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement regimen. Here are some supplements that may be considered for metabolic health: Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Found in fish oil and algae-based supplements, omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties and may support heart health and insulin sensitivity. Vitamin D: Essential for bone health, vitamin D also plays a role in insulin sensitivity. Many people have insufficient levels, especially in areas with limited sunlight, so supplementation may be necessary. Magnesium: Magnesium is involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, including those related to glucose metabolism. Some individuals may benefit from magnesium supplementation, but it's essential to avoid excess, as it can have a laxative effect. Chromium: Chromium is a mineral that plays a role in insulin action. Some studies suggest it may help improve insulin sensitivity, particularly in those with chromium deficiency. Berberine: Berberine is a compound found in several plants, and it may help regulate blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity. Alpha-Lipoic Acid: Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant that may help improve insulin sensitivity and reduce oxidative stress. Probiotics: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support gut health. There is emerging evidence that a healthy gut microbiome may influence metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Green Tea Extract: Green tea contains antioxidants, particularly catechins, which may have a positive impact on metabolic health. Green tea extract supplements are available for those who may not consume enough tea. Cinnamon: Some studies suggest that cinnamon may help improve insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): CoQ10 is involved in the production of energy in cells and may have antioxidant properties. It is being studied for its potential role in metabolic health. Remember, supplements are not a replacement for a healthy diet and lifestyle. They should be used to complement a well-rounded approach to health, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and other healthy habits. Additionally, individual needs vary, so it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the right supplements and dosages for your specific situation .
