Akkermansia-related Recommendations

There recommendations are compiled to go along with my Akkermansia FB post - Truly live Akkermansia muciniphila without added prebiotics is still relatively limited in the U.S. market. It is an anaerobic mucin-degrading organism and technically challenging to stabilize in a live form. Most products fall into two categories: Pasteurized / heat-treated (postbiotic) Akkermansia Live Akkermansia combined with prebiotics to help survival and colonization The following two products I want you take a look at - Akkermansia Postbiotic This is a pasteurized (non-live) Akkermansia product. Mechanistically, this is still very relevant because much of the literature shows that pasteurized Akkermansia retains metabolic and immune-modulating benefits. In some metabolic studies, pasteurized forms actually performed as well or better than live strains. So while it is technically a postbiotic, it is not “inferior” from a functional standpoint, especially in sensitive P/P kids where aggressive prebiotic fibers can flare symptoms. Metabolic Daily Pro It’s a multi-strain consortium, not a single Akkermansia isolate. It does contain live Akkermansia muciniphila (WB-STR-0001 strain) and it does not include added prebiotics like inulin. Conceptually, Metabolic Daily Pro is the closest in composition to NutriDyn UltraBiotic Akkermansia Plus product. The biggest difference is that NutriDyn uses mostly pasteurized Akkermansia (80% heat-treated), whereas Pendulum uses fully live strains and different Bifidobacterium species. Pendulum Akkermansia - is one of the few live forms but it contains chicory inulin. * All three recommendations can be opened and mixed into cool/soft food for those avoiding swallowing capsules, if consumed immediately - based on product details and standard probiotic handling (no enteric coatings or manufacturer warnings noted). Most stable if opened -> Postbiotic version Possible but less ideal -> Live Pendulum products (open and consume immediately to minimize oxygen exposure) Suggestions on how to increase endogenous Akkermansia: • Polyphenols (pomegranate, cranberry, green tea, berberine) • Intermittent fasting (adults) • Mild caloric cycling • Butyrate support • Bifidobacteria restoration • Reishi mushrooms (best source is MCS Formulas - you can use code detoxguide5 for 5% off or find other good options here on Fullscript)

It is not a protocol meant to be followed from A to Z. It is simply a curated list of the specific products I discussed in the post, gathered here in one place for easy reference. Think of it as a menu, not a plan of action. Which of these tools, if any, belong in your child's care depends entirely on their individual clinical picture, and that decision should always be guided by a knowledgeable practitioner who understands your child's full situation. Please introduce anything new slowly and in partnership with your provider. Core herbal support Myc-P™ (Researched Nutritionals) - already covers Isatis, Cordyceps, Houttuynia, Chinese Skullcap, Cat's Claw, and Sida acuta in one combination formula If you want individual herbal formulations, my top recommendation is to source it from Elk Mountain Herbs . 13 more items in Calming Acute Grief and Reducing Emotional Overwhelm in a ChildIf the primary goal is calming acute grief waves and reducing emotional overwhelm in a child, I would provide support in layers: acute emotional regulation nervous system stabilization sleep buffering (if needed) histamine / mast-cell modulation (if relevant) My product recommendations attached below cover all the above areas, and some come in combo formulations, reducing the pill burden. Below, you can also find a list of specific products with more relevant information: HOMEOPATHIC (Acute Grief Patterns) Typical approach: Pick what resonates the most.
