Headband Headaches

When the intestinal environment (microbiome) is out of balance, there is a potential for both low back pain and headband located headaches. Foods to consider removing may include corn and/or dairy products. Consider adding more magnesium and mineral rich organic vegetables. Review the following symptom list and begin the ONE supplement that most closely matches your needs. Low back pain, pain at the outer thigh, thumb pain, cough, and/or poor sleep between 5-7 AM? Chew GI Stability 2 at bedtime. Blood pressure creeping up, poor sleep, and/or anxious? Take Magnesium Lactate 2 at bedtime. Joint pain, itchy bottom, and/or poor sleep? For more detailed information on this headache pattern, see chapter's 10, 12, and 13 of The Headache Advantage book.
View protocolRight-sided Headaches

Right sided headaches are a sign that the gallbladder is under functioning. Consumption of foods like wheat, corn or soy with the pesticide Glyphosate in it can disrupt gallbladder and intestinal function. Tomato products can also compromise bile production. If you have right sided headaches and any of the other listed symptoms, you would do well to try a trial elimination period of 3 weeks to see how much your symptoms reduce. Choose the one supplement from this protocol that best matches your additional symptom pattern. Do you have less than 1 bowel movement per day, right knee pain, heartburn, and/or pain between the shoulders? Try Betafood 3 at bedtime. Do you experience anger, frustration, elevated cholesterol, and/or restless leg syndrome. Try Bio GGGB 3 at breakfast time. If you have anger, and frustration without restless leg syndrome. Try 2 B6 Niacinamide at breakfast. If you have gallbladder symptoms and challenges with memory/recall concerns. Try Choline 1 per meal See chapter's 5, 12, and 13 for further information on right-sided headaches in The Headache Advantage book.

View protocolFrontal (stress) Headaches

2 more items in Frontal (stress) HeadachesWe all deal with periods of increased stress. We are created to be able to "run from the tiger." Problems occur when we spend to much time in "stress mode" or don't properly handle the stress hormones. Among other things, this can adversely effect the stomach, think ulcer. This can then lead to pain in the front of the head. It can also, yet rarely manifest to pain at the top/crown of the head. Review the following list of symptoms to determine which ONE supplement most closely resembles your needs. Obsessive/anxious, low back pain, elevated blood pressure, trouble falling asleep? Ashwagandha Complex by MediHerb works wonders for this, 1-2 per morning. Occasionally, Rhodiola Schizandra will work better for the back pain, obsessiveness, and generalized fatigue. Take 1-2 per morning. Trouble falling asleep, anxious, elevated blood pressure, unsatisfying bowel movements? EZ MG, 1-2 at bedtime should do it. There are some bugs that can inhibit the breakdown (sulfation) of the stress hormone, cortisol. If you have joint pain, anxiety, and obsessiveness Myrrh, 2 at bedtime may work wonders. Spanish Black Radish, 3 at bed may also work. See chapter's 7 and 13 of The Headache Advantage book for further detail.
